Matsumoto and Nagahara are really struggling against Korean pairs, that could be dangerous for Japan in next year's Olympics if they were to go. I think Matsutomo/Takahashi and Fukushima/Hirota, at the moment, would be a safer chance of medal for Japan. But one year is long so maybe they will be able to pull better results against the Koreans by then.

Feaynnewedd. Well said even though I am a ardent supporter of MatsuNaga. MatsuNaga 2 big losses to CQC/JYF in AE and BAC have shown how they were unable to close the match with a big lead and a game in hand. Unless they can overcome this weakness all the points earned from constantly making to the semifinals will only be wasted opportunities. MatsuNaga, please work on your defence and confidence. They always beat the Japanese pair in Semi final and then lost to Chinese/Korean in Final meanwhile Matsu/Taka & Hirota/Fuku always win the final against those Chinese/Korean pairs

As usual nagamastu clueless against Korean pairs. Another straight game defeated. They seemed really nervous with these shaky serves and returns. There wasn't really a match at all, just completely dominated from start to finish. Fukuhiro are still the best JP pair in my view. This Korean pair has really played well this year with this non stop attacking style, very strong pair overall.

Totally agree, it doesn't take a genius to realize their faces in this game. They crack under pressure. The way they way today was like night and day to their last few games. They can't take the pressure of playing in final in Japan. I think the coaches will have a talk about wheter or not to select them to represent for olympic. This is not olympic yet and they are already that nervous. Fuku/ Hiro & Matsu/ Taka would be a better option if this pair doesn't improve their mental strength!

콩킴 커플의 명장면을 보려고 두번 봤어요 ㅋ 경기가 상대적인 것도 있지만 마츠모토 선수가 컨디션이 되게 안좋아보이네요 그녀의 큰키에서 나오는 강한 스매싱과 안정적 수비에 이은 빠른 넷플레이가 안나온게 일본팀의 패인이었던 것 같습니다 사실 뉴질랜드 오픈때 킴콩 커플이 우승할때 후쿠시마 히로타 커플을 사강에서 만나 경기할때가 훨씬더 박진감 넘치고 짜릿했어요 어째튼 축하드려요 한국인으로서 너무 자랑스럽습니다

Wow, a very impressive victory by the beautiful Kim and pugnacious Kong over the top seeds Matsumoto and Nagahara by big 21-12 and 21-12 margins. The Koreans were joking and laughing before emerging for the match which spoke volumes of their confidence while the Japanese looked tense and uneasy. Kim and Kong had a good experience of defeating two tall Chinese players (1.77m Li Wenmei and 1.75m Zheng Yu) in the semifinal and this led to their strategy of targeting the 1.77m Matsumoto who was weaker in defense and sometimes caught off balance. The Korean pair were solid in defense and deadly in attacks while the usually powerful Japanese pair could not play to their strengths against them. The partisan crowd was dismayed and stunned into silence by the demolition of the top seeds. The Koreans were humble when interviewed (Kim said they were surprised to win) which made them worthy champions and deserving of more.

This Japanese was nervous from the start, I can totally see it in their faces. All they did in this game was lift and lift, absolute no offense what or ever like how they play in their past games.
