I`d be interested to know if your vehicle has a spare wheel and jack, this seems to be an omission on some cars of today , and when you mention this , you always get the same response from fan boys , “ oh i have tyre pressure monitors “ , or “ i have a instant puncture repair kit “😂😂😂😂😂😂. Which sounds all good and well until you hit that big pothole or piece of debris on the road that roots your tyre , or roots both your tyre and rim, and it does not happen often , but it does happen , i got caught out on a country road heading out towards Shepparton a couple of weeks ago. On the panoramic roof without a blind we have one in a family members car , in that other brand of EVs , made by electric jeezus , and when the cars been in a reasonably hot day in a Melbourne sitting in the hot sun for hours in the mid 30`s the glass is like a convection cooker , and it takes a good amount of minutes before you dont want to put your head up near the roof until the aircon rectifies the situation. The thing I dont like about EVs is , people talk about mileage and cost to run when they are brand new , as you drain and recharge that EV, every single time a tiny bit of the battery dies , in 5 years time neither your range of charging frequency will be the same , eventually it will get to a point where it is no longer acceptable , and you will have the option to continue driving a knobbled car with limited range , or bite the bullet and replace that massively expensive battery which if you factor it in properly it should be divided into your weekly running costs ! Or you can sell the bastard or trade it in for what you can get for it. You should also factor in the cost of amplified insurance cost , we got a notice saying insurance will be going up to $ 3000 dollars per year , ouch , we managed to get it a bit cheaper , but its still way more expensive than our gas cars.

Definite agree on pretty much all of this! I've had my Seal since March, also the Premium. Easily the best car I've had, would definitely prefer it over any of the German brands I've had. Unbelievably, the interior of the Seal is put together so much better than any of them were! No creaks, squeaks or rattles at all, for a car costing 1/2 the price! I've not yet had the phantom braking happen to me yet, but one feature that has been extremely important to me since I live rurally, is the V2L function. The wild weather this week in Sydney left me without power for pretty much the whole day today and most of the evening, and here that means no running water too. But, I've had the seal running the water pump, laptop, phone chargers, tv and even the kettle and air fryer when needed. Absolute life saver!

A friend of mine bought a Seal Performance & loves how much go it’s got at the same time his best mat purchased a Tesla Model 3 Performance. The Tesla has had 4 software updates bringing new features but the Seal OTA’s haven’t arrived yet. The other disappointment is the lack of regen braking & one pedal driving. I own a 22 Tesla M3LR which at the time was pretty much the only decent EV & would probably buy a Seal today purely on price even though I don’t think it’s as good as the Tesla. The child detection is the thing I dislike most. First time it happened to me, I had no idea what was going on. Now I just always ensure I keep the car on if I'm going to be sitting in it for a while. I am interested by your “peeves”, as I had noted most of them on the test drives I have done. You are right, it seems most of them are fixable via OTA updates. I took a Sealion 6 for a test drive and its driver display is much easier to see and has a visor over it. It’s a shame they didn’t do the same thing in the Seal since they are from the same family. It’s going to be changed in next year’s Seal anyway. An update which also includes manual vents as well (if the renders shown in one of your earlier videos are accurate). If the HUD was a bit more info rich, it wouldn’t matter so much about the corners of the driver’s display being obscured by the steering wheel.

I should have mentioned in the video (I didn't realise until I watched it after uploading)...I can't see the top half of the dash because the steering wheel is in the way. The Seal comes with 2 dash cluster layout options already...so different layout options are possible, if they make one that puts the info at the the top of the screen, to the bottom of the screen instead, that would fix that for everyone else who faces the same problem.

I novated my Tesla in December last year and then got laid off in July. Monthly premiums went from $800 pm to almost $2000 pm. While I love that it can save you so much money, I think the government needs to step in and do something about the unethical practices of leasing companies. If I want to settle my car early the leasing company will still add all their fees for the duration of the lease term, making the car cost more than a brand new model y. On a different note, the BYD’s are really cool. I’m just not a fan of their service schedules. Also not too keen on the infotainment UI.

@@69memnon69 yeah, that's my concern about NL as well. It's not for everyone, and it should be mandatory that leasing companies tell customers what the lease will be, and what the exit options are, if the lease is no longer novated.

Mate you can just talk to the car and it does most things by voice
@BeYonD-EV3 ай бұрын
@@triplex7144 AC via voice I've found to be not that intuitive. You have to give it 2 or 3 prompts to get it right. But for rear defogger, heated and cooled seats, I only use voice control to control them. Single prompt and works everytime.

Total turd of a car in EU spec. BYD made a complete balls of the ADAS. It beeps and bongs relentlessly, and so many screens to go through just to turn of the beeps each time the car is started, menu, sub menu, after sub menu. Horrendous.
