If you leave the ODB2 in the car plugged in and you leave the app connected on your phone, the car will jump in to alarm when you lock the car. Switching on the A/C remotely allows you to lock it.

I think I prefer to use the bottom button on the remote control that switches on the aircon and keeps the car locked. The alarm is set automatically

Excellent content both on the house and the car. Apologies for the unrelated question, but I'm hearing mixed reviews on this car. The consensus is that this is an amazing car with one major flaw: the system won't save your settings, and there are 3-4 annoying "safety" features that you'd have to manually switch off (they're well buried within the menus) every time you use the car. Is this true? what is your opinion?

Here in Thailand all setting changes only need to be done once. I understand that in other countries like Australia that is currently not the case. BYD have been very good at listening to their local markets and software changes via OTA come quickly. There have been 3 since I’ve had the car.

@@EcoHouseThailand Great info, thanks. I'm happy that Thailand doesn't have all these annoying regulations that make the car almost undriveable, and also glad to see BYD adapting to each market and allowing what they can.

As I wait on my (UK) BYD Seal to arrive (in March) - any thoughts on the headlights? Are they quite "flat" or do they illuminate more on the left side (for right hand drive)? I'm possibly going to drive in continental Europe and I'm hoping not to dazzle anyone!

I have tried same combination but no luck.😢 I'm using ELM327 v1.5 adapter. Will it be a problem? Can I know what version of ELM you have?

Do you what's the "Factory SoC" meaning and where I cal find Battery SoH?

I have the adaptor and app and its all setup like yours but my boxes are all empty. no senor data is appearing on any of the 14 pages. I reset the app as I had used it on past ICE cars but even after a reset its not showing sensor data. It all appears to be connecting fine.

They are so cheap, might be worth buying a new one that lists BYD cars as supported

@@EcoHouseThailand yeah I just tried my old phone which has been factory reset and exact same issue is happening so that points to the adaptor I have being too old or faulty. It's at least 8 years old at this point I think. I'm doing a road trip on Friday and I was interested in monitoring the battery temp over the drive. I'll have to do it on the next trip :)
