is it worth trading in the alpha though?
@SavageTechAustralia6 сағат бұрын
All depends on preference and what you are using the ute for. Alpha will be more capable offroad however this will be better on the road and faster. Gwm will have the phev hopefully next year then they will be comparable.

2.5T towing is 1T below industry standard with the likes of Ranger, Hilux, D-Max, Triton and many others. Why would you release a ute that is below industry standard when it comes to towing...? Ridiculous! Imagine how many more they would sell it it met Aussie expectations. If they release one with 3.T towing, adequate GVM, payload and a great GCM, I may look at getting one. Also would need good power and torque from engine alone when battery is flat on long off-road touring towing a van and no charging infrastructure. Not for me in it's current configuration. Triton better towing tourer.
@michaelhermans47537 сағат бұрын
I think we all know towing 3.5t in any ute is unrealistic, and dangerous as well as giving you a payload of SFA when towing 3.5t
@SavageTechAustralia6 сағат бұрын
Correct all these caravans on the highways swaying down the road. A small Triton is not what I'd be towing 3500kg behind me is dangerous.
@stevo74546 сағат бұрын
Not everyone needs to toe 3.5t most use a Ute to camp and maybe a hetski
@charlessas41385 сағат бұрын
@@michaelhermans4753 You can't tow 3500kg with 3.5T towing capacity safely. 3.5T capacity gives you headroom to tow 2.4T - 2.7 T safely providing you're within the rated GVM and GCM and payload. If your tow capacity is only 2.5T, then how many kg would it be safe to tow? Somewhere between 1.5 - 1.7T ??? This ute has 1000kg LESS capacity that industry standard of 3.5T.
@charlessas41385 сағат бұрын
@@SavageTechAustralia I would have thought that you being in the industry would understand what I'm saying. I would never tow 3500kg with a vehicle that has 3.5T capacity. Guaranteed that if you would do that you would not be within legal GVM or GCM. With 3.5T towing capacity you could safely and LEGALLY tow a van with tare weight probably 2.5 to 2.7T and yes EVEN with the new Triton. You could NOT do it with this new 2.5T capacity ute. This vehicle is a show pony, and not a practical workhorse for a lot of Aussies who actually buy a Ute for towing and touring. BTW what is the payload, GVM and GCM for this new Shark? Have they even released that info? Can't find it anywhere. Compare these and towing capacity with Ranger, Hilux, Dmax and yes EVEN the new Triton.
