I am proud to say, as a follower of the NY downtown scene since the 1970's, supporter of CBGB since Blondie's rise from the club, that I was the very last person to interview Hilly Kristal. It was by accident when I phoned to share my sadness and support for him over the closing of CBGB. He reminisced deeply for quite some time and I asked him if I could share this conversation, which he was totally fine with. Only days later, Hilly departed this scene called earth. The silence is deafening.

I love this man what would my life be without him. Would i have A Debbie in my heart, The Ramones buzzing in my ears. He helped create and support the greatest musical scene of my generation God bless him.

Man I remember my neighbors two sons used to be in a band that played at CBGB's from time to time. Man CBGB's iwas an Icon and should have been deemed a National landmark . I wish they could reopen in NYC
