50 yrs old here, probably already with cancer working on him, & his voice is still awesome.

Ben’s beautiful smile at Rich at 3:45 was so nostalgic and had me reminiscing about Ben and Elliot jamming at the end of this song at countless concerts.

Threw me off when the bass part was played at the beginning and Benjamin wasn't playing it. I guess he basically played...R's part? And a right-y playing Elliot's part? The visual is all off! ") Funny how we have these things set in our mind, and anything that strays from it just doesn't seem right. Loved the way Benjamin stood there for a moment watching in wonder and said to Rich, "so f---in' good." What is it with "Bye, Bye Love" and getting to read Benjamin's lips sometime during the song?! ^_^ Great to see him having fun and hearing yet another awesome (Orr-some!) rendition.

Hi thank you for posting this. I just rediscovered the cars after all these years and I'm reading everything I can about Ben including the book Let's Go. Nobody's addressing the elephant in the room which is obviously his weight gain. I believe it was 1994 or 95 he took his unreleased songs to LA to Columbia Records because he had some connections there hoping to get a record deal. But he was shut down, yet another dissapointment, and that's when he started really going" off the rails "up until 1999 when he joined Big People. I feel so bad about that because those songs are great I listen to them all the time.

How disappointed he must have been, because I read he helped one girlfriend (Amy) and DGP with his connections, and then his efforts for himself didn’t pay off. That’s heartbreaking.

I don't know why his weight should be brought up. Benjamin was still beautiful and just as talented as ever. If his weight was the reason he didn't get a deal in California all I can say is those people were dumber than dirt and shallow and cheap. He hadn't gained a large amount of weight, anyway. And it really doesn't matter, at least not to me. RIP BENJAMIN ORR ❤❤❤💕💕💕✝️✝️✝️🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲 From Sherri not Pete

The weight gain may have well been an early sign of the cancer. The pancreas is responsible for regulating blood glucose. I wish I could find the link that mentions weight gain as an early part of pancreatic cancer

Sometimes I can't help but think that Benjamin's sweet heart was so broken about not being in the Cars that he just never was able to really recover completely. It breaks my heart, too. I think what Ric did was a terrible thing to do to his "good friend", Benjamin was still truly talented. From what I've read Ric had become jealous of Benjamin and so he got rid of him. They had been good friends for twenty years and Benjamin was co-founder of the Cars. Ric had no right to treat him like that. I also think if Benjamin had lived longer he would have become famous. How could he not have? ❤️💕✝️🇺🇲 From Sherri not Pete

So… are you suggesting that he was either gay or bisexual and hid it from the public? %? He was the heartthrob of the band. He was adamant about his personal/professional life. Maybe he did and that would have been tragic,.
