Tracey I sent this out last night as soon as I seen it to our Sweet Purple friend as a "digital birthday" gift. I love this and this song just gets me a lump in the throat and goose bumps to begin with but this video add's a very wet eye or two. Ben looks sad here. He still seems to be disappointed over his band The Cars, coming to an end. Beautiful Benjamin Orr will always be the incredibly gifted Super Star of The Cars and no one can ever take that away. He will be loved forever by his fans❤

Love this but I think Ben has not gotten over his hurt. But basically he has done well since the Cars. Maybe the venues were not stadiums but the audience loves him wherever he is. He has a chance to shine. With the Cars he always seemed on edge and sneaking peeks at Ric to see how he was reacting to him shining like a superstar that he was. Ric was very jealous. Ben seems to have reacted to Ric like he was the boss even though they were coequals. The Cars would not have risen so far if it was not for Ben. Ric knew it. Ben is gone now but has left us with so much of himself through his music.

Ric was a control freak to say the least. He chose Ben in the ‘60s after seeing his band on television and hearing him sing at a party they both attended. Ben had a part to play that suited Ric and nothing more. Controlling people tend to be insecure which why they act the way they do - critical, undermining and demeaning. I think that’s what Ben had to put up with that during their years together. I believe it had a somewhat negative effect on Ben.

​​@@April-pw5ub I believe you are exactly right. I did read somewhere that Ric felt guilt for what he did to Ben. I hate what Ric did and any time I think about it I feel angry but I realize that being the imperfect beings we are, we all make bad choices at some time in our life and we must strive to have compassion for others and forgive them as we hope they would forgive us for making a mistake. I'm not saying it's easy but we must try our best to do this. It breaks my heart that Benjamin was treated so badly and I know it broke his heart as well. I actually can't help but believe it had a part in Benjamin getting cancer. I think our emotions can make us ill. Three years before his death. He was probably sick here (beginning stages of pancreatic cancer can be slow). How sad it wasn't caught early. He might still ne here.

It is a very hard if not impossible to treat pancreatic cancer. I have known a few people who have suffered through this horrible disease and only one that was eligible for the procedure that would not save her life only prolong it . She told me she wished she had just let the disease take her. Believe me this is a diagnoses that is fatal.

Yeah, if Steve Jobs couldn't escape Pancreatic Cancer, I don't think anyone could. Steve had endless money, and access to any Dr. or treatment in the world. Steve may have lasted longer if he hadn't been in denial and went to holistic stuff as a remedy in the beginning. He had some major procedures later, which kept him with us a bit longer, but there was no stopping the final outcome. My Dad died of this too in 1986. Like Ben he didn't even know he had it, just felt not quite well, then just worse for many months but did not go to a Dr, died 2 months after Dr. diagnosed it. Wish neither Dad or Ben had taken up smoking.

Hi Bryan, someone took my clean and precise video and - obviously - it went through many generations. This is at Government Center in Boston...a rush to be onstage with Ben filming with a sea of people out there. A fun day...the entire year videotaping Ben was a blest. Rest in Peace, ben. Such a great guy
