I’m loving your Videos. I’m elderly, severely disabled but dream of travelling solo. I’ve not much chance of that but I can enjoy dreaming while I watch your videos. Yours are some of the best travel videos I’ve seen

Nice video. I really like your respectful attitude. As guests to Thailand, we "wealthy" westerners are privileged to be able to travel so far (and even long-stay) in their beautiful country. The people there are generally so positive and friendly, the food is fantastic, and the environment is magical.

The old boats at 11.00 are the original transport you had to take from Surat Thani to Nathon. Would be an overnight trip but with room to sleep. My first time to Samui was in the late 70's. I remember the transition to the fast boats but can't pin point the year (early 80's).

I too watch Nahoa. Of all the sailing channels they are the best fishing couple. Hey, I watch your videos too. I like the very real connect that your videos have with the ground reality. No rubbish background score, no stupid editing shenanigans. Thanks very much.

I’ve been enjoying your videos for awhile now and this is my first comment it just hit me again how much I love those quitelittle Thai resorts where you stayed the simplicity in the beauty is so charming and you explained it very well. I’ve been travelling to Thailand for 30 years and spent a great deal of time there and yes can’t wait to get back there when the situation has calmed down but unfortunately I don’t want to take the vaccine.

I think your videos are great, you have a nice and calm demeanour... it's great that you don't have stupid music and fake/staged cut-shots. Obviously, because of Covid-19, things aren't the same as they would normally be... the islands are normally heaving and people aren't so friendly. Carry on with your videos, they are a job well done!

Thanks Jonanthan. In my experience over several years here, the locals are wonderful, it's some perpetually angry EXPATS you find are the pissy one's (and these types + some brainless tourists are doing their best to wear the locals down;) Beyond that, I find Thai people the most welcoming, kind hearted, helpful and PATIENT people on the planet (thankfully for some;) Simple rule, show respect + a smile, get same back is my general experience anywhere. Cheers!

What a brilliant place to stay Benjamin's Huts, shame about the rain love a good motorbike trip! They really seemed to look after you at the restaurant lovely people -food looked great and happy hour too - can't be bad!! At 6000bht a month for a room, extremely good value. All the other info in the vid really useful, Dream Island what a wonderful place that is! thanks a lot for sharing - big thumbs up from the UK 🇬🇧 PS good on you for no haggle some of the peeps there really need the money and not much in it either way in terms of a dent in your pocket I'm sure. 👍👍

Thanks as always JJ. Actually Benjamin's was 10,000 baht/$330 per month incl electric etc + free wifi and Seatara Bungalows were starting from 6000 baht/$200. Both incredible deals for places directly on that gorgeous beach imho. Yes, people are really suffering, thus, glad to help when I can even in a small way as every bit helps. Cheers to all in the UK btw :)

After Nahoas last vid the stress from this year came out with a little clarity on why they were living on a tiny boat in BC. Breakfast at the cheapest place in town is over $6 bucks here, you did well. It's no White Spot tho. : )
@SideTripLife4 жыл бұрын
Actually loved that series sailing the tiny boat, great stuff! Three things I really miss from home, Sea Wall/Marina/Stanley Park (that be 1 lol;) skiing at Whistler and Nat's Hearty Breakfast at White Spot (but not the eye watering $15.99 price!)
@mrparrehesian17424 жыл бұрын
@@SideTripLife Last time I indulged in WS Breakfast in North Van it was ........$23. LOL. Tough to find a place now where a burger meal is under $17. But the whole C-19 thing has super, super low #'s here on V. Isle, which is great considering the amount of retirees. BTW some of those island destinations look similar to Costa Rica on the Pacific side. Enjoy your day and thanks for the vids.

Breakfast for 190 Baht is expensive. Maybe for many reach peoples (like you?) it's ok but for most is not. In many places i Thailand I paid 50-100 for breakfast. Now prices are lower due to lack of tourists.
@SideTripLife4 жыл бұрын
Hmmm full on English Breaky with coffee ($6) vs Thai local ($2) I should have refused lol! Just joking. Could've got a simple one for 90 baht same place. But as the room was only 500 baht I figured why not try the top breaky? All for a total spend of 690 baht/$22 for a beachfront deluxe bungalow in paradise with that breakfast, I mean, what a FANTASTIC deal!! (to most;). I'm far from rich, on a budget like most but do enjoy the odd western meal now and then. Hope that's ok, cheers!
@BlackJackPoland4 жыл бұрын
@@SideTripLife Ofc 690 total is good deal there but NOW. I was there last year and prices for living was 3x higher so enjoy your time.

Thanks. Just for the record, last high season Benjamin's Hut was going from around $30, same for the beachfront place I stayed at in previous vid on Koh Tao. Can find beach town rooms all over Thailand under $30 in any season. Of course there's plenty more expensive places too but all in all still a bargain relatively. Cheers!

200 thb for a songthaew! it s usually the motorbike rate my first time in Srithanu I paid 500 thb a cab cause all songthaew drivers wanted the same to go to the pier, that s why you must rent a motorbike in Phangan, Tao or Samui, ripping off tourists is a national sport in these islands for transports and it starts by bkk airways rates, hoping they would learn when tourists come back...one day
@SideTripLife4 жыл бұрын
$6 for a 20 min/10km trip in a private taxi... a rip off? Lol! Actually, if I wanted to wait I could've taken a shared Songthaew for a mere 100 baht or $3 but ordered a private one to be sure. Seems every time you comment it's yet another gripe, feel for you buddy. Me? I absolutely love Thailand, imperfections and all! Cheers!
