Dear Side Trip Life - Nice video, just a little too long. The island no longer looks like I remember it. Like everywhere around the world. Too bad the Robinson Crusoe is lost. However, as a visitor, it is certainly an idyll there at the moment: unbeatable prices, pleasant weather and no hordes of tourists. That's the other side of the coin. Let's go now! hannes w.

Koh Tao is one of Thailand's most popular islands, especially for divers and snorkelers. But even if you don't dive yourself, visiting Koh Tao is definitely worth it. The island does not offer many classic sights, but all the more exciting activities.

Nice relaxed intro to Koh Tao - hope to visit there on my next trip to Phangan. And good to know where "your" myna bird is. I had one ("Lucky" - featured in some of my videos there) at my resort on Koh Phangan also. He used to mimic the sound of screeching brakes as motor-bikes descended to parking area next to his cage.

Hope on next you travel to the north thailand, if never been there (14times in the south or middle :-) . stay healthy and ty for this nice video again

Watching your older vids as I’m through with all newer ones 😉 in case you still read this…I noticed you mentioning twice now that you expect Thailand to be like Singapore soon enough. Do you still think that and how so? Do you think they will also be as super tidy (almost artificial) and full of regulations and prohibitions?
@SideTripLife7 ай бұрын
Well that's what the avg ever complaining Expat seems to want, a nanny state with world class infrastructure (but at a fraction of the cost somehow;). Thailand will eventually 'catch up' to becoming like Singapore & the West (sigh) but for now remains mostly a place with greater freedoms best practiced with some self-responsibility to enjoy (or endlessly grumble as many Expats are want to do;)
@attilab3177 ай бұрын
@@SideTripLife thanks for your insights! I sure hope Thailand won’t adapt too many western habits. In many ways they are even more advanced (like the bumgun you like to point out from time to time 😉)

@@SideTripLife l guess that is true, but traveling alone can be fulfilling aswell. Just make sure you are not rushed all the time, which seemed to be the case on Phi Phi a couple of months ago :) Anyway l am actually in quarantaine in BKK at this moment and my family will pick me up Sunday. Great travel vlog, great to see empty with reduced prices. Prices will go up again when this mess sorts itself out, time will change things. Very lucky people there, in uk much the same as say in feb/ march. Apparently the virus has mutated so not sure if new virus will work, looks like a long haul before tourism starts again. Great content, hopefully that other Canadian guy was joking, otherwise it makes a mockery of thai restrictions etc. Bri and frei east Yorkshire.
@SideTripLife4 жыл бұрын
The Quebec guy was indeed joking, no worries. Regarding prices, note she said my 800 baht room goes for 1100-1200 in normal times high season so not much more. Just over $30 for beachfront a/c bungalow still fantastic! Take care there in the UK guys and hope you can get back in the not too distant future!

I could easily do a month (or more) very happily on KT. But if you get itchy feet can just hop a boat to Phangan or Chumpon, both are amazing and open more options.

Food prices way too expensive there dude, $10 for break lunch dinner? $30 a day just to eat?
@SideTripLife3 жыл бұрын
That was for dinner at a Western Tex-Mex restaurant including 2 tacos, chicken wings and a tequila margarita which together would cost around double back home. Normally eat local Thai food for $2.00 a meal but decided to have a treat. So, you can pay under $2 or $10 and it's still a bargain comparatively.
