#restoration #asmr #axe Hello my dear friends. It's great to see you here again. This Neo-Classical artisan work of mine is about a Bahco Axe, one of the main hand tools of carpentry and traditional woodworking. I bought this axe as a birthday gift for my dear friend Harun. This Gentleman is the founder of @9Kahve coffee shops chain. Usually I edit my videos at @9Kahve, of course accompanied by great coffee flavors. I hope he will like his gift. I do not record how-to videos. If you have any questions, please ask, I am always happy to answer. Also share your thoughts and different approaches, I would love to listen. There is another important issue that I want to mention; Sometimes faster work and faster productions are requested from me. My world does not and will not flow at that speed. I want to leave this trace here, just as this craftsman spent his few days in the workshop. I hope this work will be a good accompaniment to your time while drinking your coffee or a glass of whiskey. While presenting all this craft work to you, I tried to share my aesthetic perception and beauty philosophy with you as much as possible and as always. I added my love for nature and animals and as always, my dear cat co-workers were very helpful in this project. I hope you like this work of mine, where I lived many seasons of life. Instagram @byoldhand / It will be a pleasure to see you there too. Don't forget to like and subscribe if you like it. I would be glad. I greet you all sincerely. byOldHand

@@byOldHand Well, yes and no.🤗 I would have loved to see you shave a part of your cheek with the axe, but if you tried to shave your throat with it you might have killed yourself! It just wasn’t made to go nimbly around small curves like your razor is.🤗❤️🐝

I read your description, my friend. The tempo in your videos are *perfect* ! I _love_ the time you take and the and the almost meditative feel I get while watching them. No rush, no stress. I think I can relate to that in my music. I had a coffee while watching (too early for that whiskey. 🙂 Cheers! (in an espresso double) Per-Olov

Proof of the saying that just because something is new, doesn’t necessarily mean it’s ready to be put to work. Nice job of prepping the axe, and it’s sharp as well. Good to see the quality control kitties on the job once again, thanks for the video, as always, enjoyed watching.

I just discoverd your channel. And I loved it. Nice to see in a previous video that I had the same orange lamp at home as a kid. My mother still uses it when she is sewing. The only difference is the on/off switch of mine is in white plastic. I have the same 'made in Britain' wrench. Unrestored (not so shiny) but still in use, I also use a similar handdrill, a Stanley nr.4 handplane and I also bought a straight razor to restore to an razor sharp tool (for the wife, who is a hairdresser). And now you gave a Bahco axe to your friend. I bought mine over thirty years ago. It is intensely used while I work a lot with (fresh green) woods. I do not sharpen it to a razor sharp finish as you did, but keep the convex sides by filing it while using a towel that I fold again and again after every pass to raise the file. And then finish it with a Coticule wet stone to an acceptable sharpness as it is used as a chopping device and not for cutting or shaving. Like to see more of this. Nice workshop to ;-)

Another great upload. It's unusual hiw many edged tools are dropped before sale, dulling the edges. I recently passed a Gilpin side axe to a blacksmith friend to reshape the edge, which had become top heavy with years of incorrect sharpening. I'll apply this method when it comes back. Thank you. Big love from Devon, UK 🇬🇧 rich

Martin, first of all, thank you for complimenting my work. It is definitely not possible to make everyone happy when producing content. KZbin short videos are a bit necessary for content producers. It is a good way to reach new craft lovers. The byoldhand family is growing. I also like to collage my favorite moments from my work with beautiful music. The expression styles in long videos and short videos are completely different. See you in random meetings. The KZbin algorithm brings us together somewhere.
