Thank you!!!! My 07 civic was making really bad noises coming from the pulleys took out my belt and spun all the police in the culprit was the AC pulley and I bought the exact same part from O’Reillys if anyone is wondering in the video
@ZPaulCenti3 жыл бұрын
Wow!READ HERE FOR A SICK TRICK...So crazy this can be done! Last week when my 06 started making that noise didnt know where to start. We drove it and she made it quite a while with the noise. Then she started stalling at every stop. Adavanced Auto Parts diagnosed with no conclusion and said it had to be get a new belt. I had a mechanic come over to change the belt and the tensioner. Bought the parts myself off amazon along with 3 types of belts in jsut in case. Paid him 150 for his labor (really only because I heard about the nightmare this one bolt off of the tensioner was going to be)I replaced the starter in this car last year (worst expereince of my life). Turned out it did not solve the issue. Then he said it's got to be your alternator (although it held a charge). I seen replacing the alternator wasnt hard a job so I ordered one and next day replaced it. Still didnt resolve. When I noticed one wheel was smoking I assumed it was the water pump so I ordered one of those. Then come to realize hey, thats not the water pump, that is the AC compressor. It was not spinning and was casuing the smoke and burn. And so after scathing youtube finally come across this concept of "bypassing" the Ac compressor. While watching this video I see he uses a belt that I wrongly ordered to begin with works with this. Im like WHAT! After making love to this for a few days I got the hang of releasing the tenioner and putting the belt on easier.HERES THE SICK TRICK FOR THAT... use a very heavy duty zip tie (or 2) to hold the 19mm wrench in place while you get the belt back on. And to top off everything I had taken the passenger wheel off for better access and had left the lugnuts neaby. My 4yr old daught decided to go behind my back and thrown them all over my lawn. So my wife and I had an easter egg hunt after all of this. BOY!!! Its winter in Florida so we dont need AC right now. On top of that we're moving back to Ney York soon too so, even cooler! Thanks for all your help!

Thanks so much. I got my 2010 Honda Civic LX to run fine with a 2010 Honda Civic DX Serpentine Belt with no ac. The belt was about 65 inches. Make sure you have two set of hands to complete this. The belt drawing isn't as accurate as I'd like but it gives you a general idea of how the belt should be routed. Just make sure the ribbed side of the belt touches moving parts that are ribbed as well. The middle two pulleys are not ribbed so make sure that the outside of the belt wraps around them.

Just did this on my 2008 Civic LX. It’s a very tight fit but it does indeed fit. The only way to do it is to slip the belt over the water pump last, as he says in the video. You will not be able to get it over the alternator! I managed it by myself but it would be much easier with 2 people. Also you don’t need a specialized tool for the tensioner. If your strong enough you can connect a single wrench, lift it up, and interlock another wrench for more leverage.

Bro is there any way to bypass serpentine tensioner. It all ready broke two tensioner bolts.
@renefuentez72294 жыл бұрын
Not that I know of. You need the tension from the tensioner in order for the belt to stay tight.
@philsanchez33784 жыл бұрын
One more thing the serpentine tensioner moves alot is that normal? It has a coil in the thread because it got stripped. That shit just be moving my mechanic did it like maybe a year and half ago. Two bolts broken. Maybe need a new block huh.
@renefuentez72294 жыл бұрын
No its not suppose to be loose.. From what it sounds like, who ever put your tensioner in might have stripped the place where your tensioner goes tighten down. My recommendation is look up a video to replace your tensioner/idler pulley (the whole assembly. That'll tell you how its bolted down. And if you see its loose from that spot then yea, that's your problem.

Việt Boi bought the belt from Honda for a 2010 dx (1640mm) so had the correct belt. There’s only one way to route the belt for no ac so couldn’t have been that. I had to measure the route with a tape measure and buy the correct length which came out to be 1550mm dayco belt # 7pk1550

Also, if I understand this correctly, the water pump will not have as much belt engagement on it now....has this affected the water circulation on your car?
@renefuentez72297 жыл бұрын
I tried looking into it but couldn't find the diagram. Best thing is to go your nearest autocrat store, tell them what engine is your car and have them print out the serpatine belt diagram for you. Then compare it to the one in the video. I used Orielly auto parts to get my diagram. Then just compare that it's the same as the one in using. I have a coupe civic, not sure if that matters if they use the same engine. Also I don't think it interferes with the water pump, my gauges have been reading normal. Hope this helps.

Youd have to use the process of elimination. For the blets. Go to your local autoparts store and ask for the 2007 belt. Then ask for the 2009 belt. Do the same for the diagrams. If they are the same then it should work. Thats the best advice i could give.
