Nice video - typical British weather on a day out at the seaside. I've only been Broadstairs once - for Timothy Spall's aunty's 80th birthday. She missed out on having Kenny G though. There was the European Morris Dancing Championship on at the time so quite entertaining as was watching a packed beach competing for the one toilet in the middle of the beach. Loved the giant shell (could eat a human...? really? lol) and the mosaic shop ear-wigging. Glad to see you're over your tummy bugs. Looking forward to the next one

Thank you so much for this. I only ever went to Broadstairs once with mum and dad and my auntie and uncle in 1970, when I was ten. I was pleased to see it hasn't changed that much. Morelli's Ice Cream parlour was in the same place back then and I was fascinated to see Bleak House both then and now. The big laugh of the weeks' holiday from Wigan, was that my uncle had gone all posh and had sent his luggage in advance via British Rail. When we arrived, his luggage wasn't there. He'd sent it to Carstairs not Broadstairs! I think he eventually got his luggage on Tuesday! We never let him forget about his error! Just by watching your video, all these happy memories (and more), came whizzing back from over 50 years ago. Thank you!

James. Please, don't change. If people don't appreciate that your views are yours and your sense of humour and outlook on life is yours, then the issue is with them. Not you. We don't all have to agree on everything. We should be respectful of differences. There's nowt stranger than 'folk after all. There will always be people that want, for whatever reason, to bring others down. They are the weak ones. It's far easier to sit back and criticise after all. Not so easy to get out there and create something as you have. So well done chap.

@18:00, the shop on the corner ahead of you is "Harringtons", an ironmongers, which was the inspiration for the famous "Four Candles" sketch by the Two Ronnies. As you then pan the camera to the right and comment on the bar, above the bar are rooms where Ronnie Corbett used to stay when holidaying in Broadstairs.

Also Beamish in county Durham, have an old fashioned chip shop that cooks theirs in beef dripping, 🥰

Good to see you enjoyed Broadstairs. I used to come here in the late 70s early 80s on holiday with my family. We were lucky enough to stay in Eagle House (flats) the white house on the beach that you walked past. My parents liked it so much that one holiday they bought a house and I’ve lived here now for 40 years. The air B&bs are a huge problem int his area as there are a real shortage of properties for locals to rent. I love living here! Before you got to morellis (ice cream parlour) there was Chandos square where one of the houses has a blue plaque for Oliver Postgate, writer/creator of Bagpuss, Noggin the Nog, Ivor the Engine and Clangers. I noticed someone else also mentioned the hardware store which was the inspiration for the fork handles sketch for the 2 ronnies. Your video shows just how lovely Broadstairs is. Botany Bay that you mentioned was amazing for seeing the northern lights when they were visible a couple of months ago too. Didn’t you fancy going to Ramsgate to see what that was like?
