It's so much cheaper getting your oysters and shucking them yourselves especially here in Louisiana. We got a half sack of oysters which has about 7-8 Dozens of oysters for only 45 bucks. That's insanely cheap for that amount of oysters. Shucking isn't too hard at all., it's definitely worth it.

I use a ratcheting screwdriver to open them up. Just use the flat bit in the hinge

Yeah, I have roughed up my hand pretty good as well when I did not use a towel or gloves. Knife slipped and gnarled up my hand on an oyster.

You should try the East Hampton Shucking tool, it's the safest and easiest way to open oysters. You dont hold down the oyster down with your hand. It keeps your hand away from the knife. You won't get hurt using this tool.

I'm sorry dude but you're lying or DILUSIONAL. Raw oysters are not delicious . Why? They have no taste ! That's why you gotta add a bunch of ingredients to it to make it worth eating. If anything, its like tasting a salty hocker. Mussels DO have a good taste and texture. More dense, and better more versatile recipes. However, I still love Ersters more for some reason. Lol

Disgusting. Leviticus 11:9-12 “‘Of all the creatures living in the water of the seas and the streams you may eat any that have fins and scales. 10 But all creatures in the seas or streams that do not have fins and scales-whether among all the swarming things or among all the other living creatures in the water-you are to regard as unclean. 11 And since you are to regard them as unclean, you must not eat their meat; you must regard their carcasses as unclean. 12 Anything living in the water that does not have fins and scales is to be regarded as unclean by you."
