I cannot love this enough. I was tasked with a sacrament speaking assignment this week, and I stumbled upon this podcast and it was truly an answer to a prayer. Some of the things discussed are things I’ve known in my heart for a long time, I just needed to hear it from someone else. Thank you. I hope you take it as the highest form of flattery that I made your words my words.

The more that the Father reveals to me the wonder of my true eternal identity, the more I ache to let this knowledge be known to us all. Thankfully, that is what the temple is all about and I’m grateful to both of you brothers for choosing to try and bring light and truth and understanding of our epic and glorious reality to light. I was deeply moved and grateful for this and other podcasts. Thank you all who made it happen!

An absolutely inspirational view of the temple endowment!! I will listen and learn with new ears and a more tender heart when I attend my two endowment sessions tomorrow---and I've got 75 year old ears that I can see really DO need hearing "aids"---such as this marvelous broadcast!! Many thanks to all who make this possible---and my deep gratitude and love to my eternal companion on the other side of the veil who keeps nudging me forward to do more and be more of what God knows that I can still do and be!!! We often comment about how hindsight is 20/20 but with the blessings of the temple, our "foresight" (or "eternal perspective), our glimpse into eternal, celestial relationships, brings a power and a depth of joy that is indescribable----especially as we sacrifice to share this sacred privilege with those we covenanted to help who await "rescue" on the other side of the veil!!! Once again, THANK YOU!!!

This podcast is exceptional regarding the great prayer, there’s much to be learned, not only atonement lessons, but the lesson on the separation of the members of the godhead and fulfillment of the Abrahamic choice of whom the father would send and the godly love of the father and Jesus for his disciples. Jesus had to be filled with anxiety and maybe fear of the next hours of his life, I shrink at his prospects of the coming events. Thanks to you and your guests for their preparation and perspectives with their testimony.

Brother Bruce Porter taught that oaths of the adversary are not to be broken upon penalty of death. Our sacred oaths and covenants of the temple rather than break we would give our lives. Thanks for teaching the way to better honor our covenants and better follow Christ.

To me the temple garment represents how God is tangible. He has a body of flesh and bone just as I do except He is a God - He has all the light and life that I seek. He has a covering just as I do - spiritual and physical covering that's what the garment means to me. He was born, lived, died, and rose from the dead.

Im a huge fan of your teachings and your teaching style. I appreciate you so much. I was a little puzzled about confused with your teaching about the garment’s purpose to be to ensure “modesty,” I’ve never seen an official teaching about this, although I understand how people would assume it. I recognize that if worn properly, we will cover more of our bodies, but I feel like the definition of “modesty” is so relative - since it is different from culture to culture and from age to age. My concern in identifying the garment as a means of ensuring modesty could be dangerous since the word has become somewhat weaponized: used to shame and even drive away too many young women- assuming that modesty has to do with chastity. Chastity is a temple covenant. “Modesty,” especially for those not wearing the garment, is not, and I don’t believe they’re related or even correlative I don’t believe that they should be taught in the same category. Thank you again for all that you’re doing. Thanks for listening.

I was taught about the garment before I received my endowment. Modesty was taught to me. It was repeated in the temple as I was being prepared. I don't understand why the concept of modesty should drive young women away any more than the Word of Wisdom. If women have not been taught previously to dress modestly then they should be taught. Society encourages women to put their bodies on display. It wasn't always this way.

I don't know anyone who 'obeys' their temple covenants except the law of chastity. So, we only have to live one out of five to be considered worthy? How does that make sense? Does 'keep' mean to being committed to try and obey?
@tiffanyseavy565
@tiffanyseavy565 Жыл бұрын
From the handbook...."Live the law of obedience and strive to keep Heavenly Father’s commandments. Obey the law of sacrifice, which means sacrificing to support the Lord’s work and repenting with a broken heart and contrite spirit. Obey the law of the gospel of Jesus Christ, which is the higher law that He taught while He was on the earth. Keep the law of chastity, which means that a member has sexual relations only with the person to whom he or she is legally and lawfully wedded according to God’s law. Keep the law of consecration, which means that members dedicate their time, talents, and everything with which the Lord has blessed them to building up Jesus Christ’s Church on the earth." No one is perfect but Christ, so yes we are covenanting to strive to do all these things, but for the most part, they are easy to live if you're not selfish and hypocritical. Do you live somewhere with a lot of hypocritical church members? Or do you think "consecration" means communism? Do you not give your time and talents in your church callings and ministering? Are you not repenting every day or at the least every Sunday at sacrament? You don't try to live the higher law of forgiveness and doing good to others? I think you are living all these things and don't even realize it 😊
