One of my walking songs playlist. It sort of gently washes over you and takes you to another place. It's very dreamlike.

This album is an emotional roller coaster. You happened to pick an uplifting song. Listen to the Kiss for a completely different vibe. Or Fight, Fight, Fight.

She fell,of the cliff when they were asleep above the ocean. How do o know/ Basically he says it in the lyrics. “Twisting in the water You're just like a dream‘ AND ‘…found myself alone, alone Alone above a raging sea That stole the only girl I loved And drowned her …”. He never admits the song was written that way because IMO he didn’t want it to become a sad song or depressing. So he just added the next bit “…deep inside of me”.

Love The Cure, one of the most two faced bands ever. (In a good way). Their albums can be so 2 sided. My Favorite is Wish. With 5 songs on it that are raging industrial metal, 1 goth emo ballad and a few alt pop radio. They are very dark. and yet also throw these radio pop songs on the albums. Very strange but I like it. The song Edge Of The Deep Green Sea on WISH is like the total opposite of this song, hard dark industrial metal. They are one strange group but magnificent. I think they like to keep you going WTF? Cause they'll blast you with hardcore shoegaze metal and then the next song will be like this one..LOL It's a strange ride, and believe it or not, they have some of the most intricate complex industrial metal guitar solos you'll ever hear. And then throw a pop song that makes you chew bubble gum and dance around like a valley boy. LOL. In your off time, look up END, Open, Edge Of The Deep Green Sea, Apart and CUT off the WISH album and you'll be quite perplexed when compared to this song..lol

The Cure are very versatile, Just like heaven is for Robert SMith the perfect pop song..... but they have very dark tune and are godfathers of goth rock, listen to the album Pornography (1982) one of the darkest album of all time, no fancy radiofriendly song, just cold rage, despairs and pure chaos !

Okay, I am hardcore Cure fan. Although I like this song, I much prefer their more darker songs or kind of quirky unusual numbers. You got it right, the lyrics are not exactly happy... I mean towards the end it leaves the listener guessing and on the edge. However, the music is upbeat. If you by chance prefer to listen to their dark stuff check out their dark trilogy- 17 Seconds, Faith and Pornography, especially the last one that would even make any other death metal band sound trivial. The Cure is actually a genre defying band. The Emo connection is only as far as the bands they have influenced but to be honest they are too alternative for popular world and too popular for the mainstream hard rock.
