C&O Canal Bike Trip 2019

Riding 184 miles from Cumberland Md. to Washington DC via the C&O Canal.

The C&O is a wonderful ride. Lots to see along the way. This trail could easily be ridden several times and each experience would be unique. Allow some time to visit the "Canal Towns" along the way. If White's Ferry opens back up before your trip, I recommend riding it across the Potomac. Over and back for a bike was like $5. When you ride through Williamsport (between mile marker 99 and 100) stop by townhall and say hello. : See You On The Trail" 👍🇺🇸

@@seeyouonthetrail4102 I will look you up in Williamsport as I'm staying at the Bay Farms B&B. Also, my plan was to stay in Leesburg after leaving Harpers Ferry to break up the ride to Georgetown, but the Ferry issue has me going all the 60 miles into DC.......a mileage first for me!

@@sargeroberts2430 Bay Farms B&B is a good choice. Check out Tony's Pizza across the street for dinner as an option . The Chicken Alfredo is awesome. On our trip we rode from Williamsport to Swain's Lock and tent camped for the night. Lockhouse #21 Swain's Quarters is right there also. You could check and see if it is available for to rent for the night. From there to Georgetown and the mile 0 marker is around 16 miles.

I backpacked and cycled that trail many times camping at the hiker biker campsites and at Antenam. Did not carry a camera but I had Garmin GPS sometimes. Your camera is fogging up.

Don't it stink at the Brunswick family campground, close to a sewage treatment plant. I showered there a few times for free lol.

Thanks for watching the video. The C&O is a great ride. Brunswick Family campground was very nice.Right along the canal,clean, and inexpensive for cyclists. I highly recommend it. "See you on the trail" 👍
