Nice, just bought the DS3 Gen5; that trail doesn’t look like ‘light gravel’! “See you on a lighter trail bro 😎”

Good choice on the bike. I was actually holding out for a black one but it was not available. The red is pretty cool though. Thanks for watching. See you on the trail 😎🇺🇲

My wife and I just bought 2 of these bikes. I went red like yours and she went for the flat black. I am 6’1” and got the large frame as well. I am in need of a new hip and swinging my leg over this thing is painful and awkward. That dropper seat though looks like it might be the fix if it can slide all the way down for getting on the bike and then back up to a perfect height once we start riding.

Thanks for the comments. I tend to lean more towards the mountain bike direction of riding than road cycling, although I do ride a lot of both on this bike. For example, I don't use toe clip peddles like most road cyclists. I want to be able to move my feet as needed to adjust my weight and position on the bike. The dropper post is a big part of that movement. I can lower the seat, push my weight back over the rear tire and go off a steep bank or drop off. And not go over the handle bars. 😎 The dropper post does help with getting on and off the bike as you suggested it might. You can lower the seat, and get your leg over the bike easier. Then simply raise it back up to your best height. I tend to ride with my seat as high as possible to allow more power in my legs, especially for riding on the road. When I stop, I simply lower the seat and can easily touch my feet to the ground. One more thing. Adjust air pressure in your tires if needed depending on the surfaces you ride. On blacktop use full pressure, in gravel lower it down 10 lbs psi from max. In looser dirt or trail surfaces you can bring it down a little more. Do what feels comfortable for you. It will help get the best traction for a safe ride. "See you on the trail"🚲🇺🇲

@@seeyouonthetrail4102 Why do you want to ride on mountain trail? More fun? I am 60 so I think I do not have enough power to push on mountain trail, but I would like to ride on light trails or other if the bike can handle it. Do you have any issue when climbing hills on this bike? Thanks

@@seemovielove3597 Thanks for the comments. Probably the number one reason I prefer a mountain trail or a trail in general to the blacktop is safety. Distracted drivers on the road are definitely my number one concern. My bucket list trip for this 2023 season is going to be Snowshoe West Virginia and downhill biking there. "See You On The Trail"

Are you able to add the dropper post to this bike Dual Sport 3 Gen 4 2023? It would be really helpful to quickly adjust the seat post when riding or stopping. Thanks

@@seeyouonthetrail4102 could you tell me which dropper post you use? Does it increase the minimum height from seat to ground due to the dropper post? I am asking because I am only 5'3 so If the height is increased then it does not work for me. Thanks

Absolutely you can add it to your bike. It will change the way you ride. Easily lower the seat to stop or dismount.

@@seemovielove3597 If you're riding now with your seat all the way down, a dropper post may not be worth the investment. If you have some room to adjust, then yes. Replace your current seat post with a dropper post. The post has a range of motion so ideally you raise it to your ride height once you mount the bike. You're able to stop the post at any point in the height adjustment range on the fly and ride.

@@seeyouonthetrail4102 I would hazard a guess that if one is riding with the seat all the way down the frame size is to big. Drop down one frame size or two.
