The saddle is pretty much what you would expect on a Trek. Good quality with "some" padding. My cold weather pants have built in padding, my warm weather shorts do not. I recommend the padded gear. That need could change depending on how long you're going to be in the saddle. The more you ride, the more acclimated you'll get to it. "See you on the trail" 🚲🇺🇲

Funny enough I was considering looking for an explorer to drive on the beach at Delaware Seashore State Park haha. Thanks for the video, I wasn’t so sure about the explorer because of how low to the ground it is and I was afraid it might be a little under powered but it looks like you’ve gotten through it with ease which is great to hear.

I’ve got the same bike. I added the PNW dropper post, Deity alloy bars cut to 740cm, upgraded the grips, and a Bontrager 145 saddle with the tail light, also Dan comp polycarbonate pedals. It’s a sweet ride. I have over 1,000 miles so far, absolutely a fantastic value. Even with the upgrades it’s under $1,600. My 2 cents

@@seemovielove3597 If you're riding now with your seat all the way down, a dropper post may not be worth the investment. If you have some room to adjust, then yes. Replace your current seat post with a dropper post. The post has a range of motion so ideally you raise it to your ride height once you mount the bike. You're able to stop the post at any point in the height adjustment range on the fly and ride.

My wife and I just bought 2 of these bikes. I went red like yours and she went for the flat black. I am 6’1” and got the large frame as well. I am in need of a new hip and swinging my leg over this thing is painful and awkward. That dropper seat though looks like it might be the fix if it can slide all the way down for getting on the bike and then back up to a perfect height once we start riding.
@seeyouonthetrail4102

Thanks for the comments. I tend to lean more towards the mountain bike direction of riding than road cycling, although I do ride a lot of both on this bike. For example, I don't use toe clip peddles like most road cyclists. I want to be able to move my feet as needed to adjust my weight and position on the bike. The dropper post is a big part of that movement. I can lower the seat, push my weight back over the rear tire and go off a steep bank or drop off. And not go over the handle bars. 😎 The dropper post does help with getting on and off the bike as you suggested it might. You can lower the seat, and get your leg over the bike easier. Then simply raise it back up to your best height. I tend to ride with my seat as high as possible to allow more power in my legs, especially for riding on the road. When I stop, I simply lower the seat and can easily touch my feet to the ground. One more thing. Adjust air pressure in your tires if needed depending on the surfaces you ride. On blacktop use full pressure, in gravel lower it down 10 lbs psi from max. In looser dirt or trail surfaces you can bring it down a little more. Do what feels comfortable for you. It will help get the best traction for a safe ride. "See you on the trail"🚲🇺🇲

@@seemovielove3597 Thanks for the comments. Probably the number one reason I prefer a mountain trail or a trail in general to the blacktop is safety. @seeyouonthetrail4102
@seeyouonthetrail4102 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the question. I'm 5'10" and 195 lbs. The frame is a large. I like the fit. For most riding conditions I like to just barely touch the ground with the toe of my shoe when stoped and the dropper post is in the full up position. Reaching slightly forward for the handlebars. This allows me to ride a little more upright for blacktop or gravel with maximum torque on the pedals but still lower the dropper post and move or pivot my weight back of the seat to go over a log, steeper drop off, or rough terrain, where a lower center of gravity is needed. I ride pretty much every day just after sun rise and before work. This bike is very versatile and I can vary my ride from road to gravel to dirt trail at any time. Enjoy the bike when you get it and ride often. " See you on the trail" 👍🇺🇸🇨🇦

Thanks for the questions. 👍 The tail light is mounted to the Bontrager rear rack using the bolt that was supplied with the pro light kit. Front and rear lights are super bright. Definitely worth the cost. The seat post is a KS eTen remote dropper post 27.2 mm. Cost is around $150. The phone holder is Bike Phone Mount model TT-SH003 from Amazon. Not sure they still sell that one. I've had it a few years. Cost was about $15. I prefer the clamp on mount. It lets me move the phone holder from the handlebars to other mounting points on the bike and use the camera mode to get different camera angles if needed. "See you on the trail" 😎🇺🇸
