The US deficit in the financial year of 2009 was $1.4 trillion. In the financial year of 2016, it was $587 billion. This was done *while* the US was in economic recession at the point that Obama took over, as well as being involved in a large war. He ended his terms with a stock market that has almost doubled, a booming housing market, and a greatly scaled down war.
@stevenblackburn15237 жыл бұрын

@lupusdracoaquila52577 жыл бұрын
Bailing the economy out of the recession, spending on investment where the private sector stopped, boosting economic confidence. A budget deficit and government spending are not indicators of poor economic stewardship in times of downswings. Except for extraordinary circumstances, the government needs to spend rather than save in troughs in order to balance out reduction of investment by the private sector of the economy - and there was a lot of that in 2008 - to boost household confidence and return private spending and investment to desired levels. Complaining about government spending - provided the money is spent on economic investments rather than consumption - is akin to wanting the government to let the economy deteriorate further. Technically, if anything is to blame, it would be the good business sense of corporations and households who backed out of the US economy prior to, during, and after the GFC due to a loss of confidence in the US economy. Hence, to answer the general question of where any and all government spending goes to in times of downswings, it was put toward filling up the investment hole that the private sector left.

Markets are complex, i think most people don't realize what they really are or what they do. It takes on a completely different way of looking at money, more involved and dynamic than most would realize. This has been building for some time, no surprise to those involved. The markets can look "good" or "bad" depending on your point of view!

So a car, house, clothes, health insurance and an education are not necessary? You need a car to get to work at the very minimum... you also need a place to stay in. Clothes are not optional since you will get arrested without them and health care is necessary so you don't die. About the only thing that you can get by without is the education. In any case, clothes, a car, a roof on your head and health insurance are necessary in the US, but the slaves can't afford them!

They were for THEIR people, and Hitler was a dictator, not a socialist. Public school taught me the difference between a Dictator and a Socialist. By the way, Public School is a SOCIALIST program, which educates the vast majority of America.
