Cool truck. I'm in the middle of building a 63 GMC but I'm building a "Kit Bash" full on budget hot rod. I'm putting the cab on a 78 Buick Estate Wagon frame and using the original 307 Engine and automatic trans out of the Wagon. I'm putting a grill off a 30's or 40's Farmall Tractor that I bought at a flea market, not a automotive flea market but a regular flea market for $40 and the bed I'm going to build from scratch. These kinds of builds are EXTREMELY popular out here in the Southwest/West because they are so cheap to build and they already sit low so you don't have to lower them. I bought the wagon running and driving for $300 off of Facebook Market place, I paid $100 for the 63 cab and doors from a old farmer while I was just out for a drive one day, The bedsides for the homemade bed are going to be the quarter panels from a 56 Plymouth Fury 4 door and I've had them for so long I honestly don't even remember when or where I got them. I'm looking at a ALL-IN budget of 5-8k, They do take a while, I've been building mine since Easter Weekend but I've spent next to nothing on it money wise plus they're fun to build because you can do whatever you want with them, there's absolutely no rules because your literally building it with parts.
