I have a 1969 Chevy 4x4 3/4 ton. It came stock with the 2 piece rear drive shaft. Transfer case was the Rockwell and rear end is the HO72. It also had 1 inch lift blocks, overload springs and a Detroit locker in the rear end. Stock engine was 307 and transmission is 4 speed manual. Now the truck has a 454, still 4 speed and now np205 transfer case. And front disc brakes.

I'm pretty sure the K10 (at least 71/72) uses a 3/4 ton frame (with 1/2 ton springs and axles). The 2-piece driveshaft on the 68 4X4 frame you have is for a Dana transfer case and the shaft comes out lower than a New Process 205 & 203. I never got to see the output on the TH400 you pulled out and you thought it might be smaller upon initial investigation. If it does have 27 splines, it is actually a TH375. Some more 67 only things include: Smaller ignition switch bezel, finned and bigger wing window latches, the ash tray has friction slides and not ball bearings, the tailgate has a smaller logo, the outer door handles have a slightly different shape where they contact the door and bolt on and will not fit later years.

Thanks for confirming my suspicion that I definitely don’t have what it takes to do this. I love the end result, great job and great looking pickup.

I never knew those badges were a one year only thing, I think they look like the c40-60 badges, subbed

@@thejunkshop5022 Every 2wd C20 that I have seen has had the bowed frame. But I’m sure there’s exceptions..

Why didn't you use the stock rear hangers and just use a 2 inch spacer block between the axle and spring. My '72 K20 had them and it was stock.
@mrbritoweldingandautomotiv2543 жыл бұрын
Because C10 stock hangers are different than K10. To get the same equivalent lift I would’ve needed a 4 inch block.
