Tight work. Literally! I think it looks great and having that extra room may go a long ways.

You did the right thing, it’s your car..I recently restored my 72 and removed the old a/c unit and put in a new one along with a borgson power steering system. My goal when I started the restoration was to update the steering and brakes put in a new a/c systems and rebuild the original engine with more power. Don’t regret doing it.

@@DuaneKnueve-r5l Yup! Also doing the same. Vintage Air and Borgeson. The money you save buying a base car (rather than a loaded one with old parts) can be used for both comfort and safety. I also added a brake booster. This is not a judged car (except by a few online!) so I’d rather have it be what I need it to be.

I know that you`ve already solved the problem, but just in case anyone else needs this information. Corvette central sells new connectors. They are called 1969-1982 turn signal switch / plug repair kit.

I use solder stick connectors from Amazon they work great you should try them

@@stevenmello866 I’ll try those in the future.

I hope you never have to change your turn signal switch you will never get that to go up the column

@@stevenmello866 great point and I didn’t think about that, however, I just changed it, so it should be good for as long as I own the car.
@thedrivewayC32 ай бұрын
@@stevenmello866 of course, when you change the turn signal assembly, it usually comes with wires and a connector, like the one I bought did. The problem is, the connector doesn’t fit the OEM connector, so we’re really back to where we started with this update.
@stevenmello8662 ай бұрын
You cut the the wiring in the car so a new harness wouldn’t fit either
@stevenmello8662 ай бұрын
So you wouldn’t have much of a choice you would have to cut the new one to fit
@thedrivewayC32 ай бұрын
@@stevenmello866 Easier to get the new connector than the OEM. Either way, you have to figure out a fix.
