I love my C5 Z06 I drive it daily it’s built 402 CI with close to 600 HP. Built trans and rear end it’s a total street monster that gets 20 MPG.

Look at the side angle on the z06 and you will want to keep your c6 and all you got to do is change the head lights on the c6 and it will look way better

My 100% stock 01 Z06 with a full tank of gas in 3,000 ft DA went 12.61 @ 113. That's with a 2.0 60' and heat soaked, staging at 230° coolant temp. Stock paper air filter and all. This is why I use a 100 shot when I want to play and leave the engine stock. People do a cam, headers, exhaust, tune, FAST etc and make 420-430 whp but still struggle to trap high teens. Stock C5Zs have done 120 mph on multiple occasions. Any C5Z with a cam and headers should go 120+ mph even in 2,500-3,000 DA IMO and most of the time they just don't. Now you have a loud, choppy car that people think it's gonna be fast and then it's only 3-4 mph faster than an average stock Z which is embarrassing.

My stock ass c5z06 ran 12.43@120 on some autocross tires! Next time out said tires with stiff ass sidewalls wheel hopped and busted the diff and trans. No more drag racing for me

They might just not be as fast as they're thought of. To be fair the LS3 was on Radials and the Z06 was on street tires. I bet the Z would've won on radials as well

I remember the first time I took my Ls1 ws6 to the track I had bfg street tires and I had some troubles shifting and man was it hot and humid. I never felt my engine so hot when I popped the hood just a damn sauna under there lol. Fastest I got was a 14.1 and there was a 2002 SS with us that ran 13.7. Friend SRT charger ran 13.7 too and he usually ran faster. It was just too damn hot. That track is close to lake Ontario here in Canada eh so that doesn't help with humidity. First time at the track is a eye opener we got a whoopin that night.

Both had low trap speeds. DA was clearly not good. I do think the C6 left a solid 0.1-0.2 in the 60ft. With those tires and the decent burnout he could have launched harder

It also depends on the the altitude. Someone running at Maryland international is going ro run quite a bit faster than someone running the same car in Colorado.

Geez my 01 Z06 went 12.61 bone stock- paper air filter, Eagle F1 tires and all. 60' was only 1.99 and the DA was 2540 ft so not particularly good on either front. Full tank of gas. With a better DA and leaving harder it'd go 12.30s for sure.

you are correct I was one of the 1st people in IL to take delivery of the C5 Z06, went 12.20's- 12.40's all day a week after i bought it, my best 60' was 2.0 , this guys car is either badly tuned or he doesnt know how to drive.

@@MrWackenhut The C5 Z06 and LS3 fast lists are identical. They are dead even in a drag race, and the Z06 is faster on track. I sold the Z though. I moved and there are no curvy roads anywhere near me lol so I bought a base C6 convertible. Feels like a boat compared to my old Z06 but it's a better cruiser. Long tubes, FAST 102, small cam and 3000 stall and its pretty fun.
