I cannot even remotely describe how much better these machines and osts were compared to today. Of course there is amazing music even today, but this is just different. It feels nostalgic yet modern, it sounds sad yet happy. Its just amazing how far humanity came. I wish so badly i was a tiny bit older. I could’ve done all the things that i just can’t these days. Starting with owning an original C64 myself and a NES. People in their 30s - 40s had the best chances to do what i couldn’t. I would give anything to travel back in time to see those times for myself.

That parallaxed landscape... it deserved / deserves a game built around it.

Most demo writers attempts at writing games have been shit. They specialise in writing single spot effects which use the whole RAM and every CPU cycle on the one visual effect. Many of the methods are designed to make the software creating the effect more closely resemble an amination so it it does as little as possible at runtime. None of this is conducive to making games.
