Looks and sounds very good! It's a clever idea to open the borders and put the status bar in there. Oh and a nice subtle reference to the James Bond theme at 03:25 🙂

SEUCK games (here a new version that scrolls from right to left, all horizontal SEUCK games have so far scrolled from left to right) always have the status bar in the borders. However, in this game Richard Bayliss has optimized and improved quite a few things with the Assembler (for example, the score counter, which looks the same in all SEUCK games without modification).

I feel like the title screen photographer, the music composer, and the actual gameplay designer were all very talented people on completely different teams, so they all feel "state of the art" but in completely different ways

Interesting. Like River Raid on its side, or a horizontal SHM'UP but with a top down view instead of a side view. If they ever do a sequel they should make it so that the course goes vertical as well as horizontal.
