I am no kid nor racer, and they adapt to all levels of skill and confidence. You will come away with a fist bumping and high five memory of a lifetime, as well as the knowledge that you are driving the same Z51 machine every day. You’ll be able to do a Clint Eastwood when those punks pull up next to you at the traffic light: “Go ahead. Make my day.” Then it is 🔨 time.

I put down $5k for a Z51 with mag ride in March 2022. I first was told it was not refundable and then told it is refundable until it reaches 3000. You actually are getting more communication than me on my order. I saw videos saying the same thing you are experiencing with the non Z51 models. Good news for you on getting your car somewhat soon. Mine is about 12 months. Would be extremely happy for 6 months. I think you will like the Z51 package. I have heard it is far better. Good luck!

In hind sight I'm glad I ordered when I did. The price increase would have been $3600 for my same car with a June order. So far I have been treated well by my dealer.

I just ordered my 2023 C8 2 days ago and I was only on the wait list for 3 weeks. I put in my request on 6/25/22 . Should I consider myself lucky? just like you I had to option for the Z51 to make the order happen. I got the GM order workbench # and the dealership agreed for me to buy it At MSRP. I too sent emails, phone text and no response during the 3 week, then I get a call….. we can order your C8 but it must be a Z51, no mag ride, no all weather mat……didn’t want Z51 but it’s take it or leave it. Fortunately for me, this dealership never asked for any deposit $$ of any kind. They just took my word and placed the order.

Congrats on getting your order placed! I've got a 2020 Rapid Blue Z51 Stingray and it's the best decision I've ever made. It took over 12 months before I got the car but the wait was worth it. During the wait I was checking in continuously with my dealership and online to find when it would arrive and tbh looking back, I wish I'd just hanged tight and not worried too much about when it was arriving - I put myself through a lot of stress over really something that was out of my control. The good news is you will get your car and you will absolutely love it! Props to your wife for convincing you to just go ahead with it - hopefully you've managed to put food on the table though. Thanks for the content, love your raw honesty.

I went to Friendly Chevrolet to inquire when they thought the Z06 ordering would open up. I currently own a 2022 C8 3LT Stingray Z51 convertible. The sales guy said I could put a $5000 deposit down and when I came up on the list they would then tell me how much the dealership would markup whatever I bought. Tell me then how much they would markup the car???? Are these dealers on crack? I paid $65,000 for my 2021 1LT Z51 Stingray coupe and $109,000 for my current 3LT Z51 Stingray convertible. No markup on either. I bought those from AutoNation. The 2022 I ordered straight from Chevy.

I did the same thing put $1000 deposit down July 9 of 2021 didn’t get no feedback from dealership now I’m like 10 Months In and my car salesman call me on the 13 of May 2022 saying they Got six allegations but I had to order a Z51 in order to get it in the next 6 weeks I know the feeling and I’m taking R8C picking it up at the bowling Green museum it’s Worth the Wait

Im in the same bucket as you! I paid my 1K I have been waiting since November of 2020!!! I was just about to "make changes" and give up! Then I got a call from the dealer (May 2022) that my car was ready to order! Up to that time I was looking at a 71K cost but after I am now at 82K!!! I said go ahead now Im struggling to make up the difference! All in all Chevrolet has practiced the "bait and switch" on me and Im not too happy about it!!! I cant really recomed to ANYONE that wants to buy a Chevrolet OF ANY KIND! unless they want a pregnant roller-skate that isn't worth SQUAT!!! All I can say is: CHEVROLET YOU HAVE A SERIOUS CUSTOMER SERVICE PROBLEM BIG TIME!!!!!

WOW!!! Crazy story. I am so blessed to have gotten my Allocation in February and delivery in April before all this Constraint stuff started. It appears it will last throughout the 2023 model year. I can attest to the fact that it is well worth the wait for a C8 Corvette. It is an Amazing Car and the Mag ride is definitely worth the extra money. It makes driving through a city with bad roads like riding in a Cadillac. It eats the potholes up and allows the Car to ride smooth with little movement.

Hello the thousand dollar deposit was correcting interest already in their bank and now no deposit back for cancelling the order. How much over the manufacture’s suggested retail price this the car? Some one making a lot of money because people waiting sometimes years for the car and paying 150 thousand for 100 thousand dollar car. Where are the overcharge money going, Bowling Green Plant, Dealership, or to the scammers. I say to all three and the buyers paying in cost and time.

I live in the midwest and have a 22' HTC Z51. Placed my order in August with my allocation - surprisingly it showed up at the dealership late Oct. Yes the Z51 only comes with the summer tires - but quite honestly here in the midwest you see zero Corvettes running around after November. I previously have owned a 2003 C5 , 2019 C7, and this new 2022 C8. The C8 is hands down the most advanced fun driving sports car you will ever drive ! Just don't turn it into a "garage queen" - drive it and enjoy it every minute !

Hard to say how people make their decisions. I called Criswell, Macmulkin and vanbortel and got total delivery time from deposit ranging from 12 -18 months. Took a chance with a local dealer who said MSRP with 5k down and 6-8 month wait.

One of the reasons I went with the non-Z51 was I want to use it as a daily driver near Chicago. Z51 comes with summer only tires (no other option). They are only good to 45 degrees. That means I would have to buy another set of tires for the shoulder seasons. Just another added expense to consider.

I understand your thinking. Just wondering if even with all season tires would that be enough for a Chicago winter. I remember years ago I had a trans am with all season tires that would not move in the snow. Ended up putting on studded snows. That was the ticket for me. Then I felt comfortable with winter driving in Buffalo

I received my car in early March this year. We had several days in the 20s and some snow. I had no issues driving in that environment. I think the only limitation would be snow deeper than a couple of inches. I just put it in weather mode. I know everyone says it but your going to enjoy this car. It’s a blast to drive. I’m looking forward to going to the Ron Fellows school in July. I’m not interested so much for the track part but they really teach you all about this fantastic car.

That the color I got too 3LT z51 3 months ago. But make sure you have in writing that they will markup the car after it going to deliver to the dealer. It happen to me. A month before the car was delivered they add $$ on MSRP . They agree to sale at MSRP but I don’t have in writing so I’m screw.

This is a sad story to me. Here again we have a consumer that had given up his value. As long as we as consumer keep allowing these vendors to have their way with our money, they will aways stick it to us. Haven't the pandemic taught us anything, and that is, if we collectively hold our ground and not be so in a rush to give up the farm the playing field would be fair but I guess greed and the need to have at all cost will always overrule.

Congrats on your order. BTW I too had to order the C8 with the Z51 package which I too did not want but in order to get the allocation it had to be included. So, I made the most of it. Unfortunately, I ordered the new wheels which are on constraint, so, I’ll have to wait till they lift the constraint. On top of all the the dealer is charging me an extra 10k for having their first 2023 allocation. We’ll see if it’s all worth it when I take delivery of the car.

My dealer tells me mag ride is on constraint. I’m next in line in my dealership, but I want mag ride. I also want 3LT and non z51…..I can get it in July if I opt for no mag ride, or probably August or September if I decide to wait….but…I want mag ride!! Your dealer has cars already built? I didn’t think they ordered cars for inventory. I know they don’t here in Florida. The only way a car sees a showroom marketing is if the person who ordered it backs out. They put it on the sales floor and it’s sold for 20 or 30 thousand over MSRP….not something I’d do. Good luck….mine is going to be rapid blue….

No, he does not have ones already built. He had 4 allocations ( 3 Z51 no mag and 1 Z51 w/mag) for May. 3 guys ahead of me took the no mag Z51 so I got the Z51 w mag. Every dealer has different allocation numbers and what they are allowed to order it seems. Good luck on your order it's quite an adventure isn't it.

I feel for you my friend I have a Camaro Z11 1LE, also have a Corvette ZR1, I can tell you that if GM does not reel in these dealerships, and fixes these up charges, II will never buy another GM product as long as I live This is an American on principle for those prices you might as well buy a letter Besides I think the Z06 are going to have major recall problems

you should but you don't. It's even more than corvettes like they can't even get a sunroof for a Tahoe if you want. I'm in my seventh decade so time is not on my side. I'm coming around to the Z51 package and feeling much more excited. Heck, tons of guys would be thrilled to be in my position to even be able to order a vette.

Its to GM's self interest to build what the customer wants. However, all manufacturers have to depend on vendors and suppliers. Because of demand or shortages they sometimes have to put on constraints stating they cannot offer a certain option or package. They do this to keep the assembly line moving. I was in the car business for 40 years. This is nothing new. When this happens it makes the dealer look like the bad guy but it's really out of their hands and believe me they don't like these constraints because if frustrates customers and they lose business over it.
