The C5 coupe is a great value and great car to modify. I do love how a lowered C5 Z06 looks though. I see a lot of people talking about taking loans for toys, inflated prices, interest rates, etc.. Here's a suggestion (and it's something that really worked for me). 1) Make believe today you bought whatever it is that you have a jones for. 2) Calculate what the payment, increased insurance, and taxes would be so you get an accurate monthly amount. 3) Take out a separate savings account. 4) EVERY month going forward, put that amount into your new account. 5) 6 months down the road, ask yourself how you're doing. Miss a self-payment? Find this was no big deal to do? Find that this is the most cash you had in awhile or ever? Would have rather had the ride than the cash? Would rather have/do something else with the cash? Do your own honest evaluation. 6) And go another 6 months. Seriously, time flies. What I'm suggesting is that if you become your own bank, you get your own interest, just for cooling your jets. Beyond that, it's not uncommon, depending on what you're after and the market, that the thing you were after has actually depreciated/is cheaper, so now you're in even better shape. Or you have time to find a vehicle that someone was all about, but now needs to off it for any number of reasons, like age or other priorities. Here's another one. When you skip a "purchasing cycle' and get away from the whole interest deal (which is now on your side), the next thing is stop riding the "buy it and sell if for less than half of what you paid" cycle. In short, keep it. If you thought it was cool then, why are you giving it away now? And why did you keep it pristene for someone else? So, in my case, starting in the mid-90's with this plan, I continued to bust my ass for toys, but I now have a dozen of them (2, 3, and 4-wheeled), all pristene and low mileage, get to drive whatever I want, and the bank hasn't received a penny in 30 years. **The craziest thing is that you wind up owning things that, when you haven't driven them in awhile, jumping back in or on them is kinda like you just got it all over again! What you're also doing is splitting your "joy miles" across multiple vehicles because you can only drive one at a time, so you win there as well. (Yes, you'll need storage space, but your garage is an appreciating asset, so all good.) Be your own bank and don't fire sale what was once your dream is the message. Over time you can end up with a collection of really cool stuff, instead of 1 latest wondertoy and a payment schedule. Put another way, you shouldn't be paying for what you're driving, you should be saving for the next one, unless you think banks deserve your money more than you do.

Prices are part of the problem. Interest rates are another. Daughter bought a brand new Subaru with 2.99% few weeks ago. So random manufacture deals exist. But overall bank rates are insane. 806 Credit score for me. Need a 84 month loan to afford a 60k pick up or scat pack so interst rates are 7% to 8%. That's nuts for perfect credit!!! 3rd problem. Soft on crime the last several years. So thefts are out of control. Cops don't even raise an eyebrow when people go through our streets cars. We know who it is. They say turn it in to insurance. Only time jail happens (catch and release) is when they take the whole car. So everyone's insurance rates are doubling to cover crime en mass. 60K vehicle is $2,000 a month with loan, interest, insurance and gas. And that's mid level Pick up, Challenger and no Vette.

@BigJoe2.0 Mine is blocked in by 2 other vehicles until interest rates come down, and I can afford to take a loan to build a garage. It's not gonna build at 9% interest. Ram 2 doors down from me were stolen in July. Same truck I have, so I feel lucky. I live in a country with 1 acre properties, and everyone is red neck gun owners with dont tread on me flags. Yet..... Criminals from the city a mile away come out here and steal cars. I have no idea how they don't get shot. Last year, national news was made because a car and motorcycle drove into a guys property. (Lost looking for a party) Homeowner thought it was bandits and shot a warning shot. At the car like a fool and killed a teen girl instantly. This is the type of BS that's happening because everyone is scared or causing fear of crime. My 1970 Nova 396 got jacked June 1st this year by a punk who didn't think red lights applied to him and was trying to get to two guys over dosing on herion. Totaled my classic and almost took my arm out the window clear off. Cops and insurance did nothing except write a ticket to him. I had it insured for 2016 value. So cost me a 40k car. Can't protect them on property, can't insure them, and ya can't arrest or shoot the thiefs. My next vehicle will be a dozen with steel plates. Hahahahahah

Just reporting in… Here in CT I see dozens of new C8’s in the $65-$80K range that are listed @ $10K below MSRP as the starting ask. The highest end most coveted vehicles are still priced @ MSRP (asking). The #1 feeling re: The Election, from 1,000’s of comments I’ve read seems to suggest a massive dose of confusion and chaos heading our way. And I’m a lifetime optimist. Believing we’ll all be stunned at the drop in prices/deals available a year or so from now. Detailing out and enjoying what we have seems like a great plan while stuff sorts out.

Any Super Charger installed is going to cost you 25k at minimum. Exhaust cheapest one 3500, headers same price. Tune. You need to send your ecu to HP tuners for them to crack it. Then you can get it tuned. I believe that whole process is another 3k. Intake cheapest one is $700. You can get used C8 2lt 2020/21 with higher mileage for low 60’s 22 and newer 2LT’s and up are still in that 70k and up range. I say all this to say the C8 Corvette Tax for aftermarket parts is real! You can def mod your C8 but it won’t be cheap.😂😂😂

Image paying $100K+ for a C8 when they first came out. Now the car's value has plummeted. Was only ever worth sticker. Now people over paying for Z06 and ZR1 for a wanna be performance supercar, manufactured by GM. The ironic part is the minimal increase in speed and performance each iteration of the car offers.
