Just use consistent polarity regardless. And do not trust Chat GPT

If you want to follow polarity, another indicator with the wire is one is smooth and one has ribs to the outside. I use the side with the ribs for the neutral side.

I'm an electrician and polarity absolutely matters. Regardless of the bulb type (LED or incandescent)The "sleeve" that the threaded part of the bulb screws into should be on the NEUTRAL and not the hot leg. For example, if you're removing a bulb and have it halfway unscrewed and just so happened to touch the threaded part of the bulb you will 100 percent get a shock. Not something you want to happen while on a ladder/roof and could absolutely get someone killed.

Agree 100% with your reasoning, this guy obviously does not understand basic electricial concepts- saying polarity is important with incandescent but not LED proves he is clueless on this topic- he should not be teaching or selling stuff he is ignorant on.

Polarity matters for safety. Having the neutral sleve being hot. It will be hot untill it stops touching the sleeve as you remove it. And in a lot of cases its even when its exposed. Thus a safety hazard BECAUSE ITS HOT if it were to back out for any reason.

I'm old enough to remember when there was no polarity tabs on plugs. I survived and so did everyone I know.

@MAGAMAN indeed. But here it's dry and it bridged the bulb and metal gutter threw sparks and set the girl scout clubhouse grass and subsequently building on fire. (It with the help of the wind. Grass fires are common but those are due to hot catalytic converters/cigarettes)

Any info on how parallel lengths of wire affect the total length? Can i have main line that runs 225 feet and then a 200 ft offshoot at the 25-foot mark?
@Thelawncarenut10 ай бұрын
as long as the total of all of them added up doesn't exceed 250 ft you are good. So in your example of 225 + 200 you are over the suggested max by quite a bit.

What are you trying to get done? Are you trying to correct a specific micro or macro in your lawn or soil? Then maybe he can recommend to you what to use

@@Thelawncarenut wait, so I understand this right, the 200 LEDs on 225 pulled 1.2 and the 25 incandescents on 45 pulled 1.3. Does that mean these numbers scale up and down linearly? Would 250 incandescents on 225 pull 10.4? Would 25 LEDs on 45 pull 0.15?
@Thelawncarenut10 ай бұрын
@@PatrickHealy forget about the length. The incandescent analogy was just there to show you how much more amperage they pull. 25 incandescent lamps pull more than 200 LED. lamps That is the only point I was trying to make. As far as length, no matter what lamps you choose, you cannot put more than 2.5 amps on 250 ft of line.
