Politicians forbidding the Forest Service from clearing fire hazards(trees, brush, etc) in high fire danger areas. Here's how you make sure idiots like these don't destroy your home...the cheap way is to buy 6 tick tick tick type sprinklers and stage them around your house connected to the public water supply. 2 on the roof and one on each side of your home. Adjust to size and add stations.. When the winds blow and fires appear turn them on to wet down your building. If you can afford to do so, install a rain collection tank onsite connected to your own pumps backed with a battery array. So when these clowns cut the power you can still spray and save your property. These tips are the foolproof answers to a place run by hand-holding group thinkers.

Insurance companies stopped writing property over the past two years because it was obvious this was going to happen. The state and city cut way back on brush clearance, brush mitigation, controlled burns, etc in the name of climate change and saving the environment. CA voters passed multiple bills over the past few decades to build new reservoirs yet none have been built. Instead they cut spending for brush prevention such as brush removal, cut fire department budget by 100 mil or so and instead will spend over 130 billon on the worthless train from LA to SF. Complete incompetent leadership over decades.

The whole point of your local and state elected officials is to make sure that the most fundamental / functional safety needs of the community are met before any pet projects. Tax paying citizens are the bill payers for the community they live in, they have a right to expect that their elected officials are taking care of these most fundamental public safety, water - fire management , community management growth needs are addressed and met before anything else. Especially if the state has had repeated disastrous and devastating fires, and not taking action to mitigate to the fullest extent with forestry/ fire management- water accessibility and appropriation- is completely reprehensible. This is devastating and heartbreaking for the people who lost everything... Imagine, your insurance was cancelled because your elected officials didn't do fire control due diligence and now you can't rebuild because you are a regular everyday hardworking tax payer who now can't afford to rebuild and has lost everything. CRIMINAL NEGLIGENCE.. Beyond unacceptable!!! THIS STATES ADMINISTRATION HAS FAILED HORRIBLY WITH THEIR DISASTROUS POLICIES!

They had millions of gallons in storage tanks that feed the hydrants by gravity. They went through the higher storage tanks in 15 hours, and couldn't refill them fast enough. There was a nearby reservoir that holds 17 million gallons, but it was dry for repairs, and it was lower in elevation than the fire anyway. Would have to be pumped. Edison turned off electricity in many areas, beforehand, because of the high winds, that might cause more fires from a downed powerline. Bottom line is, no amount of water on the ground would stop this fire driven by 50 to 90 mph wind. Godzilla breathing ice couldn't stop this.

When the fire reservoir 1:00 containing 187 million gallons of water is completely drained, the fire hydrants are purposely not tested, and you get fined for clearing brush, the power is left on, testing and breaks are not done, plus the insurance companies drop all your fire insurance, and they still don't open any reservoirs when your in the midst of a fire; that is not a accident people. That is on purpose. It's the same thing that happened in Lahaina. It is murder, arson, and theft of land for the ultra rich. These people know exactly what they are doing.
