Yes Mr Selvaraj’s has been probably one of the very few neutral commentators on this issue. I am personally a great believer of Mahaperiyava of Kanchi, and to this day I wonder how this happened. But strange that every single actor has died naturally or unnaturally. I suspect that Nakheeran stared to dig this to put the Jayalalitha government in a dilemma, Kalaignar miscalculated Jayalalitha who cashed out on this case (compare this with Alagiri getting away with so many murders so far)

So from the beginning it was a cooked up story by Jaya and Co to frame him. "There is absolutely no evidence or material collected so far in investigation which may indicate that the Sankaracharya had ever shown any resentment against the deceased for having made allegations against either his personal character or the discharge of his duties as Sankaracharya of the math". @@ananthasubramaniantk4807 5th century BC is not correct. 8th century AD at Kaladi, Kerala is correct. Adi sankarar did not establish Kanchi kamakoti peetam. Kanchi Kamakoti madam was originally known as Kumbakonam madam because Sringeri madam appointed a swamigal at kumbakonam around 150 years ago to look after a temple. Then after many years this kumbakonam swamigals shifted to kanchipuram and popularized themselves by saying Adi sankarar started our madam and called themselves as Kanchi Kamakoti peetam. Over the years people started to believe. Mahaperiva has played a major role in propagating himself and the madam.

They will tell you how bogus this Kumbakonam madam which is now called Kanchi madam is and grown through mere propaganda in the last 100 years. Kanchi Mahaperiyavar worked tirelessly to promote and popularize the mutt. Even now if you observe they will predominantly talk only about mahaperiyavar. They won't talk about Adi sankarar and Advaita vedantha or such philosophical things. Why. Because they don't know and they don't have a history. All they know is to talk about Mahaperiva to promote the mutt. Do you know Mahaperiva didn't acknowledge Kalady as the birth place of Adi sankarar until 1970s after the place was rediscovered by Sringeri swamigal 100 years prior to it. Then Mahaperiva couldn't continue as people were asking, so he suddenly built that stupa in Kaladi in early 1980s. Same with Adi sankarar's 4 madams. Mahaperiva until 1970s was saying 5 madams. Then he couldn't cope up, so he changed the story by saying Adi sankarar established 4 madams and put himself as the first swamigal of Kanchi mutt. What an atrocity.
