I’m always amazed at all the food critics out there, most have never cooked a meal in their lives. I’ve been married for 37 years and have been cooking for that long. I appreciate other people’s take on a recipe, their tips and tricks. I’ve learned so much by watching other home cooks and their wonderful videos. My parents made this dish but they used to dash of ground cloves and a splash of brandy. Thank you for your wonderful recipes and videos.

I just made Cacoila today and it was the first time I actually got the flavor right. I made it twice before and it was lacking something so today I had the ingredients provided in your recipe. It came out awesome and I am going to add 🍖 the next time I make it. Awesome vid

I made some yesterday. I did not use the allspice, cloves or cinnamon. I had seen a recipe very similar to yours but left out the items I do not usually cook with. Might try it with it next time.

I don’t cook with those spice either, my mom didn’t cook with those spices but I want to try.

Angela, you have technically provided a disclaimer when you begin your video's any way. You always say, I'm doing it my way" or "this is the way my mother used to do it." You have not, in yr videos professed that "this is the right and authentic way to do a dish". Every village/town is different and make it in a different way. Our mothers/grandmothers are the roots of the tree and we are the branches that carry different leaves...we the children make some recipes exactly like our mother's and some we tweek to our liking/conveniece. Your videos are great and so are you! Sorry for the long msg.😊

I don't know why people always have stupid comments. Every town within the same island and every house makes the same recipe a little different. People can be very closed minded. I think it is awesome to see how everyone has their own version.

I’m new to your channel. Like you I most often tweak my dishes. Don’t bother with nasty comments…..they want to do it “traditional” they can set up their own channel.

Angela. It would help us who do not speak or read Portiguese If you would list an English word next to the title to give us a clue as to what the dish will be. Thanks

Ancient tradicional recipes are sacred and not meant to be adapted to modern cooking Yes go ahead,be creative,I’m sure you’re a great cook but came up with your own name for the recipes that are not authentic so when someone that is not familiar with Portuguese culinary visit Portugal don’t be confused when they order one thing and are presented with something entirely different My intention is not to be rude at all,I’m just someone that is working on a culinary book so I’m doing tons of research so I can do our county justice 🇵🇹beijinhos desde Lisboa
