Always love to see cab rides as they always to show what is needed to add to make the layout really add to the realistic look to the layouts. You are doing great 😮

Looks great! Two ideas, place the camera in the lead container on a stack train and stream the run on the flat screen during open houses or operating sessions. Second, set up a locomotive cab and control stand for a real simulator run. Great stuff!

Other ones I've done are a caboose view, put the camera at the rear of a flat car on the rear of the train looking forward. The second is harder, pull the camera car with another loco in front of the train looking back at the train, I had a few bloopers doing that one, like extreme close ups of the loco's nose!

Thanks for the cab rides. Love the way the layout is developing, especially the signal system. Very few layouts have a long enough main line to make that feature work well. I'd love to see a full cab ride (staging to staging, including the special direction-swapping helix), even with the scenery incomplete. It would be especially nice to have a signal stop at some point, just to see these in action. Thanks again.

cork roadbed has a little edge just off the top of it. That creates an overhang that shows up after ballasting. It can be trimmed off real easy with a razor or fresh Exacto knife. before the ballasting work.

I never had that issue with N scale. Its all facing away from the viewer so not seen unless through a cab ride video.

Love the cab ride - thank you. I know I’ve said it before, but an absolutely beautiful RR. I could spend days watching trains, scenicked or not. Keep up the great work

a sleeve in the tunnels is really needed if you're going to do Cab Rides.

Very nice. Two things. 1st, the semi truck appears to be playing chicken with the train. 2nd, instead of using a black wash on the rocks, my suggestion is using a dark redish brown first. If that doesn't give you the look you want, you can go darker much easier than lighter. In fact, you may want to consider several layers of different shdes of redish washes to create more depth.

Looking good. Instead of installing the tunnel tubes, place some "Easter eggs" in the tunnels for cab rides and, if possible, for visitors if they can somewhat see into the tunnels.
Awesome videos and layout! Question: What type LED's are you using for lighting, and how are you powering them?

Never have, never will like 2 level layouts. You can NEVER focus on the “main “ layout/level
@EvanstonSub8 ай бұрын
Actually, it been better than I expected. I have kept the upper level narrower than the lower level so that it's not completely covered. Of course, it really sucks when shooting cab ride videos.
