Hi guys. Another great film. Thanks. Love the fact that Mads goes every where navigating with just his phone!

These interviews that get a more detailed account of how the people you meet live abroad their boats are great. Happy travels guys.

Absolutely amazed on how Mads’ achieved to use every single space available on this 26ft boat useful in several ways. Great series Drake ! 👍🏻

This is the most clever sailor I've seen when it comes to organizing a small boat and utilizing the available space. I will watch this again and again and will even take notes. Thank you for posting such a great interview with such a fascinating subject.

Great ideas you have Mads. We had men loke you on our USN submarines where the storekeeper had to store things so they could be found in moments. You would have been a natural on those boats! Great video series.

Man this guy is an absolute legend. Intelligent, pragmatic, and tested solutions to many problems many people havent even considered. Much like the value from your own videos Drake - You should try and convince Mads to make some more videos or start his own channel. But it sounds like hes too busy enjoying sailing. Makes you wonder how many others like him are out there on the seas, known by only a limited few. Truly inspiring stuff.

+villan Mads does seem to have his own channel, but seems more personal than for sailing.

Just an awesome interview, simply just awesome. :D And my god i love, the modifications he has made, and especially the idea, of making do, with an outboard engine. Makes me proud of being a dane, thinking about his creativity, and how serious he takes things, yet, still simply loves the freedom of sailing. :) I'm so looking forward to new videos from you guys! :)

Brilliant! This man is a genius! Love it! A little addition to the Lightning Protection - the electronic devices should be insulated against the pots/pans! Just put a Towel in the pot and the cellphones ontop of that. DrakeParagon I´d love to see more content like that!

Similar size too mine and love some of the ideas. I use a portable cooler but it only runs when the engine is on. I rigged up a relay that triggers when ignition switch is on and the cooler then operates.

Another fascinating video Drake! Adding Mads blog to my reading list. As I'm in the middle of a boat project season. Been using navionics on my phone with their free webapp online you can get free charts around the world now. It works great. Thrifty sailor says - offline option would be to zoom in and save the screenshots as pics on your phone before heading out. :) I love the idea of the sliding table that he has there.......hmmmmmm

+Sean Thanks Sean, Navionics is awesome. I love using their chart plotting software on our iPad for voyage planning.

Fantastic idea to get rid of the inboard engine. On my boat, I don't have room for an outboard because of the design of the transom and the placement of the rudder and the self-steering device; but if I could I would.

I love ALL of your videos. But I have learned the most from this last few ones. I am actually seeing my 30' boat in a whole new light. I knew it was big enough for me. I always knew that. I just did not know how I came to that conclusion until I watched this series of your videos. What would you call that "oven"? Is it a dutch-oven? I will not rest until I have one of them on my boat.
@kultbagusa9 жыл бұрын
+Der Kyffhäuser I found that oven on ebay. Its called "omnia stove top oven" and ships from Munic, Germany. And yes...you can bake pizza in it. But there will be a hole in the middle. life is great again.

i like and use Navionics as well but i also use MX Mariner it has much better charts in it. they are real NOAA charts and much better for in shore stuff but Navionics now has Active Captain in it and that is cool for trip planing. they both work very well and are very cheep insincere and back up to your main chart plotter.

Was wondering what's going on with this channel. What happened to the voyage? One week you're in Gloucester MA about to sail to Boston and, then... This for 6 weeks? I'm sure Mads is a nice guy, but is he really interesting enough for a month's worth?

+Brock Landers This interview with Mads, and the others we're working on, are very much a part of the DrakeParagon Channel and something we've done from the beginning. We not only tell the story of us but, along the way, take time to talk to others in order to share their experiences. From professional riggers and captains to single-handers and families, we sit down and show the faces of modern cruisers in all their diversity. We are incredibly proud of these series, feel they are an important contribution to the sailing world, and are honoured to record these inspiring stories. More importantly, we get countless messages and emails from others saying how they've been inspired by various interviews. Young professionals trying to work while living aboard, parents with young children, and salty sailors in their 80's (and beyond!) can all see their faces and experiences reflected in the stories told on our channel. In the past you've mentioned that the cabin tour of Southern Cross episode reminded you of sailing your parent's Dickerson 32, and we're delighted that it brought back such lovely memories. We would love to be able to edit our story and interview videos full time...really it's our dream. However, in order to keep the lights on we're working on several other projects that help pay the bills. Our patrons on Patreon are awesome and we really couldn't do this without them, but we're not at the point where we can devote 100% of our time just to videos. The break between Season 2 and 3 is a perfect time for us to work on some of these other projects while also still doing our best to bring great content to you guys. Season 3 is coming but, in the meantime, we hope you enjoy the interviews. Thank you for your honest comment and fair winds to you!
