I think we may, but it will hardly matter. Purely depends on if Trump actually tries to implement his campaign promises and crashes the economy or not. This will anger the beautiful boaters, and a slimeball like Shapiro could slip by with 270 or 286 EVs in a low-turnout election. If he just rests on his laurels, does nothing, and lets the fed rate cuts float the economy into a 2010s-style bubble, JD Vance will skate to reelection against like, Newsome probably. Either way, it doesn't matter. Everything happening now is simply a shittier lower-stakes version of what happened before. 2024 was shitty 1968. 2028 may be shitty 1976.

Let's take a moment to acknowledge that Matt Christman, who is recovering from a debilitating stroke, wrote and recited a more cogent post-mortem of the 2024 presidential election than all these chumps in the media world, _and_ he did it in verse form. Also, as dumb as the things Trump says are, turns out they actually make for pretty good poetry. I donno if Matt is up to appearing on podcasts right now, or possibly ever again, but I'd like to suggest that he ask John Dolan from Radio War Nerd for input. Dolan used to teach poetry and wrote a few poems of his own. They've guested on each other's podcasts, maybe now it's time for a poetry collab? Anyway, we ❤ you Matt!

That safety feature on the table saws, I believe, is a breaking system that breaks the blade as soon as it cuts flesh. 30,000 table saw injuries a year, you'd save money offering subsidies and buybacks, but no, deregulation is all we've got left apparently.

Yeah SawStop works by way of electric circuit that closes when the blade touches meat, which triggers explosive charge that violently retracts the blade into the saw before it can cut the meat in question. However after this the entire blade and its retraction mechanism must be replaced, and this sticker shock is what puts off anti regulators. But surely it’s less expensive to replace the blade on your saw than to go to the hospital with a mangled and possibly forever disabled hand. The initial price can be brought down as the technology proliferates.
