Wow! It took me like 3 months solid to make an asset like going back and forth over ideas and designs etc and you come in and smash it out in one session. Incredible artist! Really hope with more practice I can get to this level

@2.20 when you lowered the shape, I went ahead and changed the name of that shape to glass and made it into side single hung windows that will be opened and closed, also when you were designing the bottom wheels and stuff, I made the springs and gears for a more realistic look.

I've been learning substance painter through your videos and your content are really great. There's one part in this video which I don't understand, at 1:30:50 you use 'Glass Film Dirty Mirror' texture and it gives a proper glass effect but when I use it, the windows turn black. any solution to it? Thank you
@polyrendr2 жыл бұрын
Thanks I’m glad you’re finding the videos helpful! I believe the “black” you’re seeing is the dirt. That materials always does that for some reason. Either turn that layer off and the black will go away or turn down that dirt effect and the “black” will start to go away and only show on the edges. I usually just turn it off and add my own dirt and grunge afterwards.

will autoUV from maya work or i have to uv everything nicely
@polyrendr3 жыл бұрын
It can and will work for a lot of things, but sometimes it can cut the UV's in places that aren't the best which can cause your textures to look weird. So you may have to weld some edges together if some of the cuts aren't the best. I hope this helps!

The model is fire and so are the instrumentals you've used, any chance you can post a list of the instrumental names? If its too much of a hassle dont worry about it.
@polyrendr3 жыл бұрын
Thanks man I really appreciate it! Unfortunately I removed the audio files from my computer so I don't have all the names :( However, in situations like yours I tend to use the app Shazam, maybe you already know of it, but it very quickly finds the song names by listening to it, give it a try it might help! I will keep this in mind for future videos tho :)
@Ossie_Gaming3 жыл бұрын
@@polyrendr no worries man and yeah tried shazam but it doesn't always pick up on some songs. great model again hopefully I can get to that stage one day, atm i struggle with block outs as I find it had to conceptualise which shapes I need.
@polyrendr3 жыл бұрын
@@Ossie_Gaming You can totally do it! Just keep practicing. When it comes to blocking things out, just think really simple. Try not to over-complicate it and worry about getting things perfect right away. I find keeping things as simple as possible at the beginning really helps.(Just squares, cylinders, etc.) As shapes come together I find it gets easier to tell what you need and where to put it. Remember you can always change things up as you go. Things will slowly start to look better and more accurate, just keep it up! 🤘
