Hopefully now you've spent some time practicing the basic stitches, so I thought I would share with you my first project for this channel, and that's for this Cable Poncho.
For this pattern I used 8 balls of 100g super chunky/super bulky yarn and 10mm straight knitting needles.

Love this pattern, just knitted it with "Drops Andes" alpaca/wool mix so its so soft& cuddly. It actually took me longer to figure out how to sew it together than to knit it hahah & I've knitted all my life .

Hi. Yes, thank you for the tutorial. It is very helpful and the finished product looks wonderful. I am going to try and make it. Hope that it works and that it fits (I'm a bigger sized woman). If not, I will have a beautiful present for someone :-)

Can I please get your help. Can you please tell me how you do the ending. Where she says you do a cable twist, then you do 2 pattern rows then 5 rows of ribbing. I have tried several attempts but it’s not correct. I can’t begin to say how disappointed I am to have done so much work but can’t get the ending right. Thank you so much

Hey...........good idea to slip the stitches off the cable needle on to the left hand needle and then knitting them. Beats trying to knit from the cable needle and have it wriggling around while you're trying to knit the cable (lol)..............I just learned something......

Much easier I find, and means you can use any sized cable needle!

so when a ball of yarn gets over, we can just tie another ball with this in a knot and continue knitting, is it?? or it there a technique that i should learn??
@HappyBerryKnitting
@HappyBerryKnitting 8 жыл бұрын
You can do, this can be the easiest method, but you will be left with a lumpy knot afterwards unless you unknot it and sew in each end which you can also do. Another method is to lay your new yarn on top of your running out yarn and knit both at the same time. This works well with thinner yarn but with thicker yarn can make your project thicker. It is a case of trial and error really. Hope that helps a bit!
