Love the details. Keep it up. probably going to have to dig into my 2003 Four Winds next spring. driver's side fiberglass blew off the bunk and the insurance won't cover it.

Thank you for taking the time to put these videos together. I know what goes into making a how to and it can slow the actual work progress down, so again, thank you for that as it has been very helpful on my fixer upper. Happy travels

Hi Gagriella, I'm happy to hear you are getting something useful from my vids. Good luck with your project. I hope it goes as well as mine did. However, last year, while camping, a tree fell on the overhead and destroyed all this work. This time there was enough damage that I hired pros to fix it. There was a lot of reframing and I wanted that smudgie leak prone window removed. It cost just under 2.7k. But it's clean, sealed and stronger than new. I have published videos of these events if you're interested. Thanks for watching! Happy and safe Trails to you.

I hope you find something useful in the vids. That's the main reason I'm posting them with as much detail as I can. I hope your "problem" isn't as severe. But if it is, just keep in mind that it's a lot of work but very doable as a DIY. Thanks for watching.

jOHN; You and Lucy are doing great at your own speed. That panel cleaning showed up real well on the vid! Persistence paves the way. You are demonstrating the self-help, recycle and make do attitudes that can lead us to success. The RV community is very fortunate to have a team like you, sharing your experience and wisdom. I wonder if its possible to do some of the work sitting down? It is not laziness ~ its just aging ;--)

I replied to your comment and it just disappeared. Kinda wierd. Anyway, I'm glad you're enjoying the vids. I hope you (and others) get something from them. She'll be done soon (if the weather ever cooperates). Paul has been a great resource. Not only the physical support, but also his attention to detail. Lucy is a lot like me, in that she does what she can. It's definately a family project. :) Thanks for watching.

Sorry to hear that. It was a big job. I was lucky to have help. The worst of it was not long after the repair was completed, a tree feel on us and crushed all the new work. I have a KZbin video of the incident called "The Storm". I believe there is a small series about the aftermath. The "new" repair was done by professionals ($2,500) Once was enough for me. Good Luck and please let me know how you do.

Geezer at the Wheel. Well we’re 2 days in. Removed all dry rot but our plywood decking was still adhered to the fiberglass. Used a circular saw to section up the decking and a long putty knife to remove it in pieces. Took lots of elbow grease but it’s out. Then we reframed and relaid the decking, pretty straightforward thanks for your idea of using 1” wide pieces held together for the circular pieces! Also, ground a knife down and it’s perfect for removing the old sealant on the old seals. Now back to rewatch how you resealed the front window so we can tackle that tomorrow and get it all buttoned up. Thank you for the video!

Hey Geezer , keep your spirits up the end results will be well worth it. If it's not to late I would recommend replacing all the screws with stainless ones. It seems a shame that with just a little more effort at the factory they could put out a much nicer product that would last, but it seems like the RV industry is driven by the almighty $$$$. Hang in there, looking forward to the next one .

Geezer at the Wheel , hey geezer I think you got me mixed up with somebody else and I sure wouldn't want to ruin their reputation . I'm out here on the left coast , and if you see me it will either be in a white Peterbuilt or pulling my 20ft Pioneer with some antique hit and miss engines in my pick-up on my way to some show. Maybe I'll learn to use this enough to send a picture one of these days. ( something about old dogs and new tricks comes to mind ) Anyway have fun see ya in the next video !!

This project turned into a monster very quickly. The fact is that when we went out there the first day, we thought we could just do it that day. We thought it would just be a matter of repairing/replacing the deck. What a surprise! LOL I figure we only have 12 to 15 actual working hours in it so far. I guess we have a long way to go. sigh. I was so pleased to see the color match on that paint. I hope it works for you too. Thanks for stopping by.

ACK! Darn rains. I hope it doesn't hold ya'll back too much. If it were possible, I would do without the front window. I'm hoping my next ClassC doesn't have that. But I still like the side windows for ventilation. Also, if you've not gotten too far yet, it might be a good idea to line it with reflectix before putting the ceiling back on.

Those storms are supposed to get rough here too. As for the videos, its ok if you take a few small/short ones and make a longer one from them every week or every other week. "Classy" is the main goal. Getting her done and done right.

I hope you are doing ok with the storms. We missed them and got wind and rain is all. At least so far. Filming this project is a little tricky since we usually have 2 or 3 "sub projects" going on at the same time. But I'll try to edit clips together logically so they make sense. She's getting there. If we can get some good weather it should go together fairly easily now. Thanks for watching.
