Definitely not a movie that is proselytize in any way since Mother Cabrini does not pray or discuss God at all and is not showing praying at all either. If anything they are leaving out this part of the true story.

What are your feelings on that? I think they focused on her mission, her acts

I get it but half the story was left out. She was a woman of faith and prayer and this was completely left out of the picture. In short God was left out of the movie. Enough said. @@POPS

I'll be honest, the movie could have been longer. I loved it. The movie just felt like an epic film. The artistry of the photography alone kept me wanting to keep watching it.

Interesting I'm hopeful this will encourage more of these epic tales getting their due

Great review Pops. I get the feeling I will like this movie but it's definitely a niche style not everyone will like. Still the time period and obviously the source material are very intriguing to me

I hope to see the promotion and conversation

Seems to be like some other European style filming practices in that scenes are played longer. It always irks me that critics claim Americans won't sit over two hours for a film. Like we're ADHD children.

We pretty much *are* ADHD children

Well, I don't think general audiences will, but when it's good, they do. This was the same objection to The Godfather and other epics. If you see it, let me know what you think

Sounds like an interesting movie. I just have a hard time with movies when they're in different languages with lots of subtitles for the majority of the movie. usually action ones set off my anxieties but I might give this one a try since it's not an action one.

No action, just a drama. Kind of like a Spielberg history piece (Lincoln or Amistad)
