@peachespointofview well I don't know who those you speak of cuz I'm not them. My father was a mailman and my moms was a teacher and they had 8 kids. We grew up in one of the worst neighborhoods in our city but our parents just knew how to manage their money and keep their household in tact. So I won't apologize for having hardworking parents cuz by society's standard they were under the poverty line as well. And I remember many times, my dad running the cord from his room to the living room so that we could see good movies. Hopefully you are doing better from your children. Peace

Exactly because he thinks that he was the one that snitched on him when really it was Daquan that snitched because ben didn't want him in on the gun business with him and bamboo for some reason and he didn't want to tell bamboo that he was the one who told probably because he didn't want to rat on himself or was afraid of what was gonna happen if he had told him about it
@Thrashaholic19885 жыл бұрын
Man..... fuck Ben. If I was Daquan, I would've told on Ben's ass too. Driving all the way from the suburbs to the inner city in order to make a profit of all of the little black and brown(Hispanic) homies robbing and killing each other off by using the guns which he sold to them in the first place. Who needs people like that setting foot within the hood in order to contribute to the urban blight. Even though this movie is fictional but in there are plenty of Ben's in real life doing the same thing. Majority of those kind of individuals are crooked individuals within the field of law enforcement. As for Bamboo, he should've save his anger for Ben's ass and put a bullet in his brain especially for dropping off the N bomb over the phone to him even threatening his life. But no..... he wasn't thinking straight. Ben's the true antagonist in this movie.
@jerrytravis57375 жыл бұрын
I Get why Daquan had told on him because ben didn't trust him and was being mean to him but he didn't have to do that I mean that is bamboo's man and don't you think that if Daquan had told bamboo that he had told on him that he might kill him because he snitched on him and I don't know if bamboo would want to kill his man or not but don't you think that he wouldn't want to kill his man because ben is his man and that's the one that he sales guns with and get his guns from

This movie is deep. Daquan is a martyr for his unborn child, but he still gets his hands dirty and betrays those around him to get what he be needs. He is actually no different from the cop McRae, who uses desperate people as informants. This movie is all about crooked relationships and hidden agendas. There isn't a clear distinction between between the protagonists and antagonists in this film, there is no black and white, good or bad.......just a muddy sea of gray. Forrest Whtittaker didn't receive enough props for this film, truly an underrated classic.

One of the best movies out there! A lot of talent in this movie. This movie hits hard, a young man almost forced to play the streets to help his girl out, but being a snitch in the hood is a dangerous game. The 90’s had the best hood movies. I think all the scenarios and stories have been done and there’s no more good stories to be told.
@Laura-sg6ss2 жыл бұрын
I hear you!! I also think that the people making big movies aren't creative. They just look for what sells, they look for the numbers but it's about art. Big up all the "small" movies, directors, writers, producers, editors and actresses and actors that use passion to create. I find these times were very experimental and filled with artistic desire. That's why they were so good, now it's like people can't be bothered. It's ridiculous.

Basically everything he did was pointless even taking the charge for that kid. He looked out for that same kid that didn't even want to look at him in his time of need. The white guy selling guns to everyone continued to sell even while he was locked up. He protected someone who showed no remorse for murder against their own friend. His friend who tried to kill him still out selling guns and he could have gotten the kid locked up who shot his friend. Went free lived with his family and moved to Connecticut instead of being locked up and not being able to see his kid. The cop never delivered anything he promised and the justice system broke all his friendships, relationships, family and then took his freedom. Morale of the story, never work with cops or trust them, they clearly knew about the guy selling guns to the entire neighborhood when he pointed out they have no gun factories. Cop wanted him to feel the remorse for the one 5yr old that died, yet the cop didn't want to feel remorse for the millions of kids he caused to die by further investigating that white guy. Back to morale so Morale of the story. Don't trust cops, don't take the wrap for an ungrateful shit and if you are planning to bust someone get the full evidence.
