I'm loving the series John. I would love to see more point-and-click adventure games but I know they're very long. But thank you for giving us this gem!

Being french and having to wait for the translation of "Cabrit sans cor" wasn't the kind of frustration I was expecting from an adventure game 😂

i feel like that's because this game was heavily steeped in louisiana, partly the accent and partly that cabri isn't really a common word for goat to most French speakers
@pedrokayserАй бұрын
I think is old french because cabrit is almost portuguese and spanish we say cabrito ( goat @@Vince7724

@@Vince7724 Oh I agree, it's probably Haitian creole so definitely its own language. It's just funny to hear characters repeating "I can't help you, I don't speak french* and being like "I do, can't help you either !" Ahah

I'm continually impressed by this game's attention to detail about the cultural subjects it tackles. For a game whose protagonist is a pig, they really looked into the religions and folk traditions, and spent some time figuring out how to present them in a good way. It doesn't strike me as a caricature of these things, which I appreciate. Also, despite Gabriel's... erm... behavior, the rest of the characters seem to have pretty realistic reactions to his piggishness.

I know others have said it but I’m really enjoying the renaissance of John Twolfe. The variety of games is so refreshing and I love long play throughs of narrative driven games too. I remember watching all the Danganronpa series here so it’s fun to really settle into a series! Thanks again John for your content!

Sam's voice is 100% doing the 'white guy in the barbershop' character from 'Coming to America' - done by Eddie Murphy under a ton of makeup. Sounds just like him, stereotypical accent and all.

The sudden shift of romance for Gabriel and Malia seemed a bit rushed like I know he was “in love” the moment he saw her but damn that was spicy! Tim Curry really knows how to be sultry with his voice. but maybe that’s to show how much of a Casanova Gabriel is lol
@samwisegamgee1243Ай бұрын
Agree that it's done to show Gabriel's "charms", but it's also a combination of moving the plot along + being a bit of a product of its time. 😅I think a lot of media from back in the day had a way of rushing the romance between a male lead and their love interest to give the male more "cool points" and get the audience to root for them. 😂 A bit of a boomer ramble, but around the time this game came out I remember there was a Clint Eastwood movie that came out where Eastwood's character had a younger female coworker. The way he quickly "charmed" her would today be considered workplace harassment. Nobody batted an eye about it back then, so I guess it was ok to move that fast. 😅

Tbh I kept thinking "cabrit sans cor" meant something "without (a) heart", since I knew sans = without and cor = heart, and the victims were said to have their hearts removed. It wasn't until clicking on this video and thinking about the title more that I was like "WAIT but WITHOUT... Goat without horns???" (I know that the name "Cornelia"/"Cornelius" means "horned one" so that should've honestly occurred to me way earlier.) Favorite moments of the video were probably John reacting to the Very Normal professor talking about himself, then to Malia showing up near the end and the weird guy at the end. Thx again for playing this again for the channel!

The lecture took me right back to college, I was really taking notes because I was so interested. The creators did a great job on the research, the game is so educational. Is Geede a translation of Gede? Is Gabriel going to use Erzulie to help him win Malia's affections? That serpent deity is definitely coming back up. Is the killer in the VooDoo Murders "being ridden" by a Loa? FINALLY, we know what "Cabrit sans cor" means. I object, that man is not 35, he's at least 45! And why did he mention he was straight? Isn't "Doncha know" a Canadian thing over and Irish thing? Are we supposed to magnify the scales on the Museum snake to see if it was at the crime scene? Grace is such a cockblocker! I'm glad it didn't work, I was so impressed by his yearning in the graveyard, I guess Malia was too. Is Malia the death that walks close to Gabriel? Or is Death the creep outside the window? Is that Crash?

Although probably more than enough people tell you how they enjoy your videos, since you "asked", yes it is lots of fun. This low effort editing format with lengthier videos is to my liking as well, as it means more content to enjoy. Idk if you ever wondered about this, but it's not boring at all (not sarcasm). Perhaps I'm just lacking the ADHD.

I would've never known about this game if you weren't playing it (´・ω・`) I've got my eyes set on Malia since the last two videos. She's very suspicious to me and so is Dr. John. Also, Willy is the worst liar ever lol Edit: I'm not done watching the video yet, but my guess for where the secret hounfour is the Gedde tomb, or at least that's the entrance would be if we're going with my theory that the Geddes are the actual Voodoo queens.

I love how John took umbrage with the Professor being 35 when he is 35. 🤣im 40 but take no offense because if we remember the 90s, people who were presented to be middle aged looked like they were in their late 40s/early 50s. I remember thinking 38 was waaaay over the hill when I was in my teens. I mean, Think about it. All parents on TV shows in the 90s dressed like old people and were expected to act ancient. Good example are the parents from home alone, or the parents on the Rugrats or hell, even the Simpsons. Your 30s in the 90s was akin to being old, mature, into old people things and practically with a foot in the grave. Millenials and some Gen X-ers seem to have given that old notion the finger. Gen X because they were the "im never gonna be like my parents" generation. And millenials, well, never seem to grow up
