Cache County grandma arrested, accused of sexually abusing children over 30 years

A 74-year-old grandmother was being held in the Cache County Jail after investigators said she "sexually victimized" children over decades.
The woman was identified as Ruth Worthen.
"These claims span roughly 30 years and reportedly took place at various locations in Cache County," said Lt. Mikelshan Bartschi with the Cache County Sheriff's Office. "The allegations suggest additional individuals were victimized by Ms. Worthen."

We all have to learn to wait until the case is tried. As we just don't know what the evidence is and there are many innocent people, in prison, who have been exonerated. Barry Gibbs is one, now deceased. A lot of people including people in his family might have thought he was guilty of murder. He was framed by a dirty, mob affiliated, NYC cop who died in prison. Barry was 100% innocent.

I’m a survivor of childhood sexual abuse. We live with what we had done to us the rest of our lives. There’s a good book called The Body Keeps the Score. While the brain doesn’t always have accurate recall, your body does. To this day I don’t drink chocolate milk, my folks never understood why I didn’t like hot chocolate- my perpetrator used chocolate milk to lure me. There are other triggers for me : Venetian blinds, mattress on the floor, stale cigarette smell, dim rooms. These survivors will have their own triggers for life - especially if they attended church as children and their perpetrator accosted them in a church, a bathroom was mentioned - imagine being emotionally torn when you simply need to use the restroom. Every day. All your life. It is said that child molesters are kept separate from the general population in prison because the other inmates will kill them. How about leaving grandma out in the middle of the day room and let her have an idea of what it’s like to have no one come help you while you’re being held down and assaulted. Then be told to never tell anyone or something bad will happen to you.

I don’t care how old they are, they need to be brought to justice. A lot of these predators get to live life with no repercussions for their evil acts and then they die into sainthood. Can’t stand it. My husband’s great grandfather did this to his own daughter and then his granddaughter and then died at a ripe old age and people said nice things about him at the funeral. My own cousin who I looked up to as a sister was 5 years older than myself. No one would've ever expected what she did. I just hope there were not others. People should never allow their children to be alone with older relatives, until they understand it is not okay to touch them and the parents need to make sure their children learn to speak up for themselves, to tell adults NO and to be aware of what your children are doing.
