I wouldnt use scult for anything but 3D printable designs. All the sculpt tools are based in computer graphics not based in physics. A solid model tends to stay close to conic developable surfaces that can be fabricated cost effectively.

Awsome lars thanks. Would you be able to make paper templates for notching the tubes? Or make a drawing with all the notch degrees to cut with a mill and holesaw?

AFAIK, no paper templates/flattening out of Fusion unless you're doing sheet metal work. I used to use paper templates for notching bike tubes, but it was hard to find online tools that gave more complex geometries. RattleCAD is a free open-source bike designer that works well and gives you tube notching patterns for the whole bike. I use that for tube upright/normal bikes. I also make recumbents, and there's no special software for that. I make a lot of tooling for bikemaking via Fusion 360 and a 3D printer (cutting jigs, tube-holding jigs, etc.) I'm working with carbon fiber, so these only need to hold cold tubes until they're glued/tacked. 3D printers tend to shrink the interior diameter of a tube if it's inside a vertical, so I try to make my molds, cutting guides, and jigs as 2-piece clamshells, with the tubes running parallel to the horizontal. These work pretty well. They're more work, but a lot more durable than paper, and I can get templates I wouldn't be able to get any other way.

Hallo Lars great video as always, I have a question about the pipe command, is it possible to be drawn with it?

hey, I am a bit struggling in Fusion 360. I am modeling an rc sailboat and I sculpted sails using faces. However, I need to divide the sail into tarps that I would be able to sew together. Could you please try to explain it in some of your upcoming videos?

you can sketch set of parallel lines and use them do divide surface body

@@alexeyrybakov949 I know but the surface is flexed and I need to divide it into straight lines.

@@lukasdadak5718 i think Fusion can 'flatten' only sheet metal features for now, so if your surface have more as one direction bend you have to use another software to get it done. You can try to use same workaround as for placing text on double bent surface in Fusion, but i found it's work only some cases and very estimative. But let's wait for Lars's answer, maybe he can advise some other magic inside Fusion for this ;)

Hi Lars I have learned much from your videos, and value your efforts. I am having an issue with our LOGO, as seen to the left of this message , we place it on the Body we want and how it should look all is good however when I print it comes out in reverse like looking in a mirror reverse ?? Have you done a video that might help me address that? Kind Regards
