Did you figure out what the ants were doing? I’ve never seen that before!

@@MikeLemming so the a couple factors that I think is the reason is mold and moisture. The Cade sump cabinet is very air tight unfortunately--more than I’ve seen in other sump cabinet designs. I also live in south Orange County in Southern California which is on top of one of the world’s largest colony of Argentinean ants. This year has been extremely bad for some reason.

@ that’s crazy bro. What did you do to get rid of them? Can’t use any sort of spray I assume..

@@MikeLemming wiped up around the inside of the sump using H2O2. I followed the line to section in the baseboard that runs alongside the tank and caulked the gap.

@ oh ok! Glad to hear it’s not an issue anymore. I’ve been following you for a bit now and just like you have been dealing with bull shit for months. Dino’s, hair algae and now super high nutrients. Such a frustrating hobby!

How big is your tank?
@theloneaquarist2 ай бұрын
It’s 178 gallons main tank and 45 gallon sump volume.

Marine pure block did same for me, useless things

Definitely a source of aluminum leaching…my RO has always been tested pristine. I’m curious about the PolypLab Genesis Rock. But am not adding that to my tank. Just going to add coral skeletons and aragonite rock going forward.
