this movie puts a lot of emphasis on the idea of stability, and i think that we're supposed to assume that carla's homelife was unstable and she likes military school because it gives her structure and things to rely on that her home life couldn't give her, whether that's financially or emotionally or both.

This was my favorite as a kid. I think this movie gives off major sapphic vibes and I picked up on it even as a kid and I didn't have the words 😂😂 seeing this tho made me appreciate the new step dad to be a lot more than before. They could have made that toxic but they didn't and it was actually pretty wholesome the way they team up at the end.

Fun Fact: I went to Rahway High School (not Rahway academy lol) and was a member of the JROTC drill team. I was on the team I think a year or 2 after they filmed, but I competed with them all 4 years and graduated as commander of the girls drill team. Ask me anything! Lmao. PS military Harry Potter was that good but our team ended leveling up from there. We placed 1st at nationals
