I’m convinced that during a movie pitch, Sandler was like: “oh my god guys wouldn’t it be so funny if I was a woman? Wouldn’t that be so silly and weird? How weird would it be, you think? I bet it’d be so crazy, me as a woman. I’d do the things that I do now, but like as a woman. Wouldn’t it be funny if I was always dressed like a woman, like all the time? It’d be so crazy and funny if I went poop while also being a woman. I’d probably be pretty ugly though, haha. And absolutely nobody would ever find me attractive, so I guess it’s good that I’m a guy haha. Definitely a guy.” Source: I am a trans woman

saw a reddit post once pointing out how many times adam sandler makes and casts a movie seemingly just to give his pal a check, and based on that, they theorized that this film was made to help katie holmes get divorced. (source of money that she could keep to herself, excuse to be out of the house, smaller role and unimportant script means time usually spent in rehearsal could be spent meeting lawyers.) this thought is what i cling to in these trying times.

What’s wild is that 1. Adam Sandler doesn’t look HORRIBLE as Jill. Like, for a movie where half the humor is supposed to come from the meta that Adam is in a dress, Jill’s honestly got a full look. 2. The fact that it made so much money is less shocking to me than the fact that it COST that much. Like, I’m sure filming during a Lakers game isn’t cheap (I remember headlines and audience videos when it happened lmao) and we know famously that the money mostly goes to the cast checks, but GOOD LORD. I must know what percentage of that budget went to Dunkacchino himself.

5:45 fun fact the actor who is playing “the gardener” is actually a HUGE and extremely successful Mexican actor well-liked by most Spanish-speaking audiences and known for being a comedy/ drama actor. His name is Eugenio Derbez and he was already really famous before this movie came out. Extra fact: he was the voice of Donkey (Shrek 2001) and he did a phenomenal job bringing that character to life for Latin Spanish speakers! Also he has an extensive career and has surprisingly been in quite a bit of American-centered media. his IMDb is interesting so I’d take a look. (Also since he is an older actor a lot of Spanish-speaking people know of this actor but it’s mostly the moms and aunties that really know lol)

Hi, I'm a non-binary person with no life and I'm here to tell you that the basketball game at 8:21 was the Lakers vs the Sacramento Kings on January 28, 2011, where the Lakers lost 95-100. I found this information from the shot at 8:50 that showed the scoreboard of the Lakers against the Kings. Given how I roughly know this film was shot between 2010-11, I looked up the Lakers' schedule that season and found two dates where they hosted the Kings at home. I then scanned contemporary reports for a Jack & Jill mention, and lo and behold, the ESPN report for the game on January 28th says: "Fans entering Staples Center were told they might appear in "Jack and Jill," a movie starring Adam Sandler, Al Pacino and Katie Holmes." Apart from the horror of innocently going to a basketball game only to be told you are being held captive in an Adam Sandler movie, I have finished another mission of finding the specific match in b-roll of a sports game in a movie. I worked at a movie theater when this came out. My job was to put all the reels together to build the movie. Because I put together Jack & Jill I had to screen the movie before it came out to make sure it was put together correctly. I had to watch this movie alone in an empty movie theater. At least I got paid 7.25 for the “privilege”. I very much enjoyed your commentary and I’m going to check out more of your channel! ❤

@nemoniemand9264, or.. they wrote a (terrible) comedy about what really happened when Adam "dressed like a girl" [Adam!! You're a bisexual cd. It's okay; nothing to be ashamed about.
