Ok, what you had there was called a cold solder joint. Once you found the loose component, in this case it was a microcircuit you used the correct repair which is known as reflowing the solder. Just a little electronics lingo there for you.

The music maybe beautiful, but not when we are trying hear your comments Did you get it fixed, what did you change. My 1994 speedometer cluster lights used to flicker but eventually died, no cluster lights now, no other lights are affected. Any suggestions?

I have a 1994 fleetwood The cluster is off the AC buttons are off and power windows and off .... what can control all that ??? Fuses are good Thanks for the info

I have a 1988 Cadillac allante and recently a few minutes after I turn it on the digital dashboard and radio consol start flashing. After it flashes a few times it says I have low volts. I just replaced the alternator but nothing changed. Could the chip be the problem?

OH yes, of course. If it doesn't work, it's not gonna hurt to at least try to fix it. It's not like you're gonna make it NOT work worse than in already doesn't work.

Was your headlights flashing as well ?

Yes. When set to the auto twilight setting, that would power off as well. So at night when the lights would normally automatically turn on, they flickered or turned off the same time the inside would. I had to just manually push the headlights button to ON.

We are having the exact same problem with our Mercury mountaineer. I know yours is a GM and mine is a Ford but its too coincidental. Got to be a similar fix, I would think.

I have a 95 Cadillac deville the dash board/cluster won't turn off when I take the key out the ignition so every time I've been driving it I've been disconnecting the battery to make it turn off anyone have any advice??? Help??

I have 93. I just went to pull a part and bought another module. Pulled it out and replaced it. Works fine now
