I don't have a Cadillac SUV or a Cadillac ATS I wish I had a Cadillac 2019 but Cadillac price is a little too high for me . I admire seam Cadillac ct-6 MV 2018 Cadillac xt5 is one I like to. but I have a 1998 Cadillac DeVille D'elegance. So your car is overheating ,and you want a car overheating fix. what happens when your car overheats? Well there can be because of many things and maybe things you can do to prevent your Cadillac from overheating. The mechanics shops near me are usually friendly and help me with any questions I have since I'm a DIY person. If your car is overheating and your mechanics are telling you you need a head gasket, before you Fork out thousands of dollars watch this video first it may save you some BIG money. And I'm sure this is one of the culprits that's going to prevent you your Cadillac from overheating. But what they wont tell you is about the Coolant Purge Line or Tube. If this Helps you. You can thank me by supporting this channel. Thanks for stopping by.

As a mechanic the design flaw with GM for NorthStar's is a night mare , the over heating and head gasket issue is costly, and a clogged purge line which contributes to it all, especially in summer temps, there is a solution, something i did to give the purge line better flow, I took a short new transmission line cut the right length as the old one, used a pipe bender and built my own line route, found large opening end fittings than use the old ones, which had small holes, after that the flow was less restricted so you can get a clean flow and solid pressure so the system can re circle than high forced pressure return from the radiator, I also changed hoses to high temp red heater hose for high temp pressure, it helps balance the coolant system, you be surprise how water and coolant break down does, lastly having a free flow thermostat helps, the Factory OEM thermostats lock up creating a force pressure to release breaking down the Thermostat to lock and eventually fail, all NorthStar's are thirsty with heat due to the engine being Aluminum, the standard cycle is a love and hate nightmare if your not a seasoned mechanic or engine care, shops hate to see you coming and labor cost can clean you out on cost, the good part is GM put everything on top to get to, the new Cadillac's are worse, how ever i hope this helps and gives a new solution to the NorthStar better know as the DeathStar !!!

Any picture or video of what you did? Thinking of rolling the dice on one of these cars that is low mileage and good shape. Anyone I've talked to has said stay away from the "Deathstar" and "i will regret it". I thought of ways to increase cooling capacity like you suggest before actually using the car as a day tripper. But all things still point to these small suggestions just prolonging the agony and inevitable on the head studs?

I love that GM said the Dexcool does not need to be changed until 100K miles. I would suggest if you have a Northstar FLUSH OUT ALL the Dexcool and put in Prestone long life universal coolant. And change that every 50K miles.

Does doing this possibly eliminate white smoke coming out the exhaust during startup? It stops after the engine warms up.

The factory installed Dexcool during those years had a tendency to turn to orange marmalade.
