Great review! I managed to buy this Cadisen off Ali today for $65 us shipped. This will be a seawater beater. Really wanted the SM 6200 but wasn't willing to drop the bucks on it. Colors in your videos are so vivid and represent the watch well.

Cadisen often feel like a slightly better choice than PD, even though priced similarly. Great video as usual, and that seems like a really good buy for the money.

Bought the new V2 in "coke" colours, and it is surprisingly great looking small diver. Have no issues with new bracelet clasp, lume is average though. Great looking dial, very nice finish of the case. The alu insert is easy to operate, although with bit of a backplay yet when it gets on position it fits the dial accurately. Only complain is the finish of the bezel coin, bit rough and prone for dirt, the crown could be 1-2mm bigger, but in general I would say its a superb watch hitting above its price. Not really bothered much by little juggle in bracelet, links are very well made, screws fit and stay in easily, some people complain about the width of the bracelet, but I like it the way it is, as it subjectively somehow seems to keep the watch on hand firmly. Very happy for the purchase, definitely recommending this great watch.

Nice review! I love these vintage style looking watches. I was looking at this watch during the Black Friday, Cyber Monday sales when it was below $100 US. It's pushing $150 now! I guess I should have bought it during the sale!

Since I have a 6.25" wrist, it's great to see that the Cadisen employs female end links as opposed to male like the San Martin. This detail alone should help make it fit skinny wrists even better!

I'm glad that you mentioned wholesale prices so I don't really understand why no top hat sapphire crystal because isn't that going to present a more vintage design even still they're really giving Pagani a run for the money I know I'll check them out before Pagani but I will always look to your killer reviews before pulling the trigger my friend Stay Frosty 👍

Casiden have nailed it with the aluminium bezel. Finally period correct which none of the other brands fail to do san martin, Cronos etc .

But then again, SM use a nicer crystal, bezel (also 120 clicks instead of 90 -> wtf?!), bracelet, and at least SM's cursive logo (not the hex one) looks better on this kind of watch. Considering that you can have an SN004 for under 150 USD before taxes every now and then, I think the SM is the one to choose. At least I did - but everyone has different priorities and I totally understand everyone who goes for the Cadisen.

Turns out, my Canadian pricing for this watch is C$154 on the bracelet and C$130 on the strap. Not sure why the pricing doesn't correlate directly, maybe it's the shipping? Excellent review!!

I was starting to think I had paid to much for my San Martin retro diver. By the end I think the extra cost for the San Martin you do get more for your money. The top hat crystal makes a big difference. Nevertheless this Cadisen looks the goods for the price.

Absolutely agree! You can get the SN004 for less than $150 before taxes every now and then, which is excellent value. The great thing is that they both punch well above their weight, which should make the decision between the two fairly easy.

One area you missed (seeking your comment): anti-reflective coating of the crystal. There seems to be none, or at least no blue tint or sign of AR working. I'd put the Cadisen up against AddiesDive, as having WAY better lume and much better brushed case design, than Pagani Design. The clasp on this seems great, too. Does anyone know how to remove the clasp on this? I'm trying to swap to a clasp with more fine adjustment and one end of the bracelet is not push pins. Is it a rolled pin, do I hammer it out?

Only two san martins and both i had to re-adjust the bezel insert way off on both but quality pieces...These cadisens for the money they are in 2024 tbh theyre ok...All said and done most SNs using NH35 sapphire ceramic also lower brands too and x4 times more expensive...All budget dependant i guess...

PS. I recall in other reviews and user stires there was an issue with the bracelet rivets preventing the clasp using micro-adjustments. Did you find this was addressed? This watch would go great on a range of leather straps.

Lume comparison idea, pick a standard like Seiko 5, and compare all watches for bright and duration. In each watch review, that is, not a big lume shootout

I agree that Cadisen make slightly better watches than PD (had a few of each). But they’re still both kinda cheap-ish copies. Slapped together using replica parts in some cases. I find San Martin more verging into a legit watchmaker, and better value too if you don’t mind spending a bit more.

I thought the same, but after getting the SN004, I actually came to like the Mercedes hour hand. It definitely helped that the 6538 had it as well 😉 BB58/snowflake hands are too chunky for me, though.

@@samteks125 I have an Addiesdive quartz with Mercedes hands that I modded the movement to sweeping second hand quartz VH31 movement. You can't comprehend my rage when I couldn't swap the hands to something else. Personally the Mercedes and Snowflake hands can both eff off.

@@samteks125 I guess people just like date complication for some reason. Bit of an anecdotal evidence but iirc one YTer telling that a microbrand told him that date dial watches sell 3:1 compared to their no date variants.
