You’re comparisons aren’t quite right. This is a 25-yard pool not meters. Called short course. Only the US swims with 25-yard pools, the rest of the world has 25-meter pools for short course. The Olympics host long course pools at 50-meters, so, fewer or no turns depending on the event. You have to compare times from appropriate course to course. Short course will always be faster because they have extra walls and turns to get a bit more momentum.
