I love these, I went to Louisiana to visit my uncle & he has introduced me to so many southern Louisiana stuff. Those are indeed, beyond better than a donut. I miss having those. I also love for being introduced to Slap Yo Mama seasoning & Louisiana Hot Sauce. I love their culture & history & traditions!

I go to the one in City Park, which is gorgeous and filled with oak trees and Spanish moss. City Park and the French Quarter are connected by a red streetcar. Both in New Orleans.

Where I live (in Anjou, west of France) - and I think it was created in Nantes or Vendée - we call them bottereaux. We mostly eat them at Candlemas (02/02) Some people in my family like them with big air bubbles (it's basically empty) so that they can put jam in it

I was at Cafe du Monde a number of times when I was a student at LSU in Baton Rouge. Every time in New Orleans, we Malaysian students would never failed to drop over at Cafe du Monde for the famous beignets and its cafe au lait. After that we would take a leisurely walk in the French Quarter, Jackson Square and other places. That was many years ago, I am Malaysian, now in Malaysia, but those were sweet memories in New Orleans,,

Their coffee is a regional specialty chicory blend with a peppery-grassy aftertaste some folk aren’t expecting. I think it’s best iced. It’s kind of a tea-coffee hybrid

That's NOT how they used to be in the beginning! They were very pillowy , light and tender. Those look tough and too thin. It has been bought out. I grew up eating them. The cafe'au lait wasn't even mentioned. It was a must go together!

I visited Cafe du Monde when I was in New Orleans for a spring break trip for one of my college courses alongside the rest of my classmates in my freshman year of college. The beignets were so delicious! I had them with some milk. I remember almost sneezing because I accidentally inhaled some powdered sugar. The line can be so long sometimes though!

It's in Jackson Square where the artists are. Just down the street is Central Grocery, which makes fresh, the original muffuletta sandwich! A MUST TRY! One will serve at least six people!!! I grew up going to NOLA from a city about an hour away. Memories❣️

Not fortunate enough to say that I was raised in NOLA, but I come from a family that came from there. I LOVE this city. Man oh man, I gotta find a way to go back. When I think about New Orleans I think of 4 things: - The amazing culture mixes (not to mention the accents and art). - The Saints (WHO DAT Nation for life). - Jazz (can't go nowhere without hearing brass, and I'm 100% okay with that). - Cafe du Monde (you ain't gotta have your phone out to enjoy your time with their Beignets and their coffee).

In France, beignets are doughnuts... They're circular, with a filling, never had them served hot either. Maybe US doughnuts are different to what we call a doughnut in Europe so for you they're different but for us they're the same (pancakes and waffles are very different in the US too). I remember when I was a child, in the summer the beignet seller would come onto the beach with a big cooler full of them. Sometimes I'd have a chocolate-filled one as a treat, fantastic. I remember marvelling at how big they were, it would probably look small now!

I went there while I was in New Orleans! I could not eat the beignets because they were not gluten free, but my other family members said they were delicious. The day I went they were packed with people, but the crowd should be a little better because of quarantine.

One thing that many people don’t understand about Louisiana is that North Louisiana and South Louisiana are like 2 different worlds,I live in south la and it is soooooo much better down here,the culture,the people and the types of music paces you see are different.even the sun rise is so much different from on a lake in the middle of a forest and the swamps down south❤️❤️Louisiana is the best state ever though(except the economy lol) I am bad at explains things so this prolly makes no sense

As a French Acadian I have been to New Orleans And Café du Monde for the Beignets And they were very good However Pastries And donuts that the Beignets reminded me of were in Petit Étang Nova Scotia at Aucoin Bakery / Boulangerie The Donuts light and fuffly But a nice crispness to the outside to hold the french chocolate Someone said they air raid it with a blender And pour it in the fryer quickly after ...But who knows You get a sandwich And a few treats And a large coffee And get on the road because Your next view is of Nova Scotias Cabot Trail ... Mountain looking hills And deep valleys with a oceans view behind it all Twisting roads And the smell of cedar and pine Everyone drives slow to catch a glimpse of a Moose grazing As a hazy fog covers the valley floor ...We loved it there

The important differences between between a beignet and a donut are 1. A beignet is hot and fresh with powder sugar, a perfect combination with coffee and 2. "beignet" sounds so cool compares to donut.
